2007 MCS HISSING & TICKING

Although its only 149 miles old, by car is hissing and ticking. At idle, you can hear a ticking sound. Is it going to blow up? After driving it for only 10 minutes (my commute) it always hisses for a while. It even smells bad in the garage. Any input would be helpful.

Ticking is direct injection injectors...normal

hissing after stopping the engine is turbo water pump...normal

bad smells in garage is paint and other items 'curing'...normal

Should start getting better at 150 miles

I had the same question, but called my MA and basically told me the same thing. The weird smell is mostly gone and I have about 180 miles on mine. Either that or I am just getting used to it since I have been spending so much time with it.

I would say a rattlesnake with a bad case of flatulence slithered up into the undercarriage of your MINI. This is a normal occurrence.
