Navigation & Audio Have you programmed the volume compensation on your radio?
I mentioned this in another post, but the sound is so good that I wanted to give it a subject heading. The stereo has a program-able feature that increases the volume of the stereo in response to ambient noise in the drivers compartment. It is really impressive to accelerate to highway speeds with the window and sunroof open and the stereo adjusts so you can still listen to it. Maybe others have already found this feature. If not, it's in the stereo manual, and it's really cool.

>>Is this one of those "read the manual" things?
Yeah, its in the manual-- that I have read mostly at red lights, and in parking lots when stopping for coffee. It's not required that we shut off the engine to read it (unless maybe for Gerald Ford, who was rumored to have had trouble doing both)...
When you program it, will be interested to know what you think. Glad you are enjoying your car.

I set mine to minimum compensation - when the windows are closed, the car is so quiet at speed that you notice the stereo getting louder ... I would prefer a setting to disable compensation completely!
I HATE that the radio turns up and down on it's own. I usually play it rather loud through town anyhow - and when I get on the interstate and roll the windows up, I practically go deaf when the thing turns up. It's also murder in stop and go traffic... it never stays consistent and I always have to muck with it.
