Interior/Exterior Sunshades
Here in the southwest USA, it is critical that all cars have (and use) a sunshade. Windscreens have been known to pop out if the driver parked in the sun and forgot to crack a window.
Anyway...my current sunshade is too big for Alice, and disintegrating anyway. I've read that people aren't too happy with the OEM one you can get from the dealer, something about it being too small.
I was looking around MINIMania's site and found these 2 sunshades for $40 and $50 respectively and was wondering if anyone has any experience, good or bad, with either.

The factory shade is sized perfectly. It's fits with such precision that it stays up on its own without even flipping the visors. I think some folks are dissappointed when the shade wears and begins to require the typical visor flipping.
That said, I wouldn't buy one again. It does not fit well at all in the *back* of the car. It won't fit on the rear floor or under the seat. Other than winter storage in the boot, there's no place at all to put the damn thing. Oh, and it tweaks the mirror every time it's installed too.
Next time I'll get a pair of those round/rectangular springy ones for $7 at Wal-Mart and they'll stow perfectly in the seatback pocket.

I bought the Walmart springy things & they work just fine. Plus they fit perfectly behind the seat in the little net when not in use. I also bought a cheap Walmart mylar sunshade & cut it in 2 pieces to fit in the sunroof & moonroof-Temp was 96 today & when I came out it was cooler inside the car than outside-also just got my windows tinted. I can't believe the difference all this has made-the AC cools immediately & works like a charm.

Response: Agree it fits perfectly.

Response: Now you contradict yourself. Yes the mirror has to be re-adjusted after removing the sunshade, but it's such a tiny matter requiring just a second or two of adjustment. It is not intended for the rear windshield. I have yet to see a sunshade that is better than the OEM for the price.

I think he was talking about storage in the back of the car not trying to fit it on the rear window.

Even better, I usually stash mine under the passenger seat... cheap, and very handy... can't get much better than that...

(Although sometimes we have a fight and I look like someone trying to put a square peg in a round hole because it doesn't want to fold up.
