FSD Spring Perches help needed!

Just has FSD's installed, and the rear is sitting higher than i expected. I've ready a few threads that if you install the rear perches the wrong way round, then they tend to sit higher.
Unfortunately i don't have the original instructions, and before i go back to the shop and potentially complain about nothing, i'd like to have an idea if they are installed wrongly.

Does anyone have any pictures, or a copy of the original FSD install instructions so i can verify things are okay before i start being a whiner?

I'd like to help but I did it myself and just matched the way the stocks looked.

Did you check the Koni web page?

thanks Longboard - yeah i checked the koni web page, but i couldn't find anything remotely useful.
I've found a couple of posts by k-huevo that say "If the rear lower spring perch were installed upside down it would cause the rear to sit higher."
Which is making me wonder if that's my issue.
Sadly i can't find any pics or diagrams that tell me which is upside down, or downside up !!

It shouldn't sit any different. I use to have them and loved them. I know the rears you have to use the Koni collars not the stock ones. It should like something very simple.
Good luck
Mario

I have FSD's and they do raise the car about 3/4". I talked to Koni people at SEMA and they said yes they do tend to do so.

I measured mine with Hsports/ stock struts and after with my Hsports/ FSD's. The height was the same. I have heard of Koni's and Bils doing that on BMW 540's and E36 M3's but not on the Mini

The lower spring perch is flat with an inner sleeve, the sleeve should be on the top side, the flat part of the perch rests on the ring welded to the shock body. Can you take a close-up photo?

I’m not sure the instructions would help even if you could locate them; the drawings are not easy to understand. When you put the lower perch on it seems counter intuitive for it to be able to rock so installers will place it upside down on the collar/sleeve because that is the more stable position. In this photo, notice the perch collar/sleeve can not be seen beneath the perch.

Thanks. Just snapped some pics, and it seems as if they're similar to yours.

Now look at the upper mount, but that one is hard to mess-up. Without removing the struts I don’t know how you could tell if the left & right were reversed or the upper elastomer bushing had been placed below the mount. I could probably put my fingers up there and tell but I’m familiar with the arrangement. You could give that try, remove the wheel, slide some fingers over the upper spring seat and feel for two bushings, but I’m having some trouble fathoming how it could be assembled that way without the installer noticing something wrong. Beyond that, I would give it about 50 miles to see if it settled some.
