Wheel and tire insurance - where to get? worth the price?

What companies do you know of that sell new car tire AND rim insurance other than (or in addition to) through new car dealers?

Which of such companies coverage also includes additional tires and rims you may buy in addition to those on your new car?

Is such insurance worth the $500 to $600 it costs?

That seems to be a lot of money just to insure a couple components of your car. Might be cheaper to pay a little extra to drop your comprehensive deductible on your regular car insurance.

Why don't you just spend the $500-600 on a complete set of wheels and tires that someone has taken off of their new MINI. Such deals happen every day in the marketplace here. If you did this, you would be guaranteed to have 4 replacement tires and 4 replacement wheels. There is almost no way that the insurance policy could beat that.

Try Paragon Motor Club. Tire & Wheel Insurance for $27.95/year. I found this on the E92 board, and many have bought it. A few have filed claims for replacement wheels/tires, and they report that they have had no problems with the claims.

Can't remember for sure since I didn't get it, but as I recall the dealer's price was more in the $350 range--not $500+. It's probably negotiable if you want to go through the dealer.
