R50/53 Pulling the trigger!! Anyone else skip on your spec order f
I ordered my Dark Silver MCS this weekend, and today found out that a customer at the dealership backed out on a Pure Silver MCS of almost identical spec. As much as I thought I liked Dark Silver so much more, I spent some time at the dealership today and found that I really liked the Pure silver too!! In fact, every time I look at one of these guys, I tend to like it!
I left a message with the dealer to let him know that I'm gonna take it. Although the way these things go around here, I wouldn't be surprised if he sold it during my trip from the dealership back to the office!
I could be driving tomorrow!!!!
I know what you mean. I spent days staring at the color choices when I was making out my order list. When I got to the dealer, they had a Mini that was a different color and had a few options that I wasn't going to order sitting on the showroom floor that looked stunning! It went home with me and I couldn't be happier. Most Mini colors look great anyway. Go for it, Summer will be over sooner then you think!!

I did the same thing; spent days (weeks?) agonizing over color choices and features. I finally settled on a BRG/W MCS and a list of features. I emailed it to my "motoring assistant", who emailed back to say that she had a car with all the features I wanted in EB/W.
I bought it. I love it. I'm happy.
Go for it!

I love the dark silver (I should since I own one) but you can hardly tell the color from inside.

OK, I'm the black sheep of this group. When I ordered my MCS in April of '02, I knew that the color (IB) and Cold Weather Package were not available on a MCS until the '03 Model year. I waited SIX months, as opposed to only three if I would have opted for an '02 spec. vehicle. However, as I had gotten on the waiting list in June of '01, and extra 90 days was not too difficult to take. For all you Newbies, there was NO possibility of instant MCS gratification at that time; even getting a test drive in a MCS wasn't possible until May of '02, after I'd committed to one. It was definately worth the wait, however.
I was lucky and found the color I was after but it didn't have the options (HK) that I wanted so rather than wait 5 months I went for one in stock (but no HK). Very nice and 4800 miles later I have no regrets.
Take your pick. I'd rather be motorin than waiting- anyday.

Me too, told my dealer to look for about 2 weeks to see if one comes off the boat that had 90% of what I wanted. found mine, the only thing it had that I did not want was the cold package, $300 was no big deal, had it within 7 days at the dealer then waited a few more for the tint and I drove off.
I say make a (its got'ta have this) list, anything else you can live with.
the real fun is in driving these things, you got'ta get in it ASAP.
