Found a good deal on base last night

Was poking around at the BX, in the open box section. Found a Kenwood CD player with ipod connection built in, and a pair of Kenwood 6.5" speakers for 120. Regular price was about 260! Now the orders going to be to find a place to mount it while keeping it relatively out of sight. Probably put the speakers under the back seat, and the radio, I`ll make some brackets at work so I can mount either under the heater box, or tuck it up under the dash. Wasnt planning on buying either anytime soon, but was too good of a price to pass up.

I used the metal case that stereo comes with and some low profile screws to mount my stereo. I took some fandangling (making the holes bigger so the screws would be flush) but with a coat of black paint on the outside it would look great.

The person who owned my Mini first cut holes in the shelf behind the back seats and that works well but because she's so loud you really need a set of speakers up front. I found a pair of 4 inch speakers and mounted them under the dash inside the hot air hoses that go up to the wind screen. You can barely see them and it makes hearing the music possible when the car is actually being driven.

I found one from a Rover Mini that I`m going to bid on. Its got a nice metal frame, with plastic trim around it, so should be pretty sturdy but only requires 3 holes.
