Noticed this this morning, hoping someone could let me know if I have to buy the whole unit, or if these can be assembled and only certain parts are sold.

If it's the whole unit (note- the plastic "rings" that are formed in a circle were also destroyed) any idea on price from MINI and elsewhere?

OUCH!!! whatever u hit's gotta be HUGE to cause that much damage... i had my car 4 years and never had an issue with the lense crack like that

anything sitting on the inside? when did it break? because although its not likely, and since you are under warranty, you might wnt to check if the unit itself is faulty... could be a stress crack

 

No way it was a stress crack, there were at least 20 varying size pieces inside. Something hit the car, I'm not going to go down the road seeing if I can blame it on MINI, just looking for options of how to fix it without spending what I'm guessing is near $1000 at the dealer. (edit: $800 - just called)

I guess my options are new at dealer or used for a few hundred less at car-part or any of the other million salvage parts companies.

 

Did you get that price from Classic?

 

Check with insurance, many states require coverage of lights.
