Second guessing my buy!

Question, I put a deposit for a 07 mini already and i have the production code for about 3-5 days now. If i changed my mind, could i get my deposit back and back out of the sale?

Relax people, i'm just changing my mind so i can get a 2005 mini cooper S...no going for another brand or car...relax! lol

WE're not the ones to ask - ask your dealer. Don't know that anyone here has backed OUT of their purchase , but since you're considering another Mini we'll still let you in.

Don't worry, we'll still like you.
I had a choice between a CPO '06 MCS or a new '07.

You now which one I liked better (see my sig).

There have been several people on NAM who have backed out of a sale for different reasons: better deal somewhere else, found something they liked better, etc.

Personally, I agree with your choice of the 05.

I had an '07 on order for a few months when I found a zero-mileage '06 on a lot with the same spec as my '07. I bought the '06 and the dealer that I ordered the '07 from returned my deposit when he sold the car.

I seem to remember being in this same quandry myself. Just follow your heart.

Hmm, maybe merge threads and put in General Mini forum?

I'm pretty sure you can get your deposit back just by asking for it. Not sure about this, but I think there may be a law saying this must be the case. Even if there isn't, it's likely the dealer won't try to keep your deposit if you back out of the deal.

I'm not a lawyer but I have stayed in a Holiday Inn Express.

I'd get the '07.

The dealer may work with you if you buy a pre-owned MINI from them. The MINI Next program is really quite nice. I got my 05' used from a MINI dealer about 2 months before they came out with MINI Next.

Good luck to you.

we also recently purchased our first MINI. We went to the dealership several times looking at the 07's. On the day actural day I was headed down to make my commitment on one I happened across an 04 S that had been kitted with the JCW tuner package, lots of nice options, and it only had 3900 miles on it. Essentially a brand new 4 year old loaded S. I snatched it up.

I have to admit, I really didn't know the difference between the 1st and 2nd generation models, but now that I've had the car for a while and have been able to see it side-by-side with the new version, and I am extremly happy with my choice. fools luck really, but it works for me!!!

I like the 2005-2006 R50 & R53 better. Sometimes new and improved isn't.

I've got an '06 and, while I prefer mine, the '07's are definitely better in many ways. This, however, isn't an R50/53 vs. R56 thread...
