Who else lives in NW Ohio?

I live in NW Ohio and wish there was a Mini Club in this area. Is there anyone else who lives in NW Ohio and would like to be part of a Mini Club? I drove the 2.5 hours down to Columbus this past Saturday and met with some fine folks from the Mid Ohio Club, but I still think we should start our own in this area. Let me know and I would be willing to try and start one somewhere in this area.

I'm in Piqua. I'm in Ohio Mini/MINI Owners, in Dayton...just off I-75. We meet the first Tuesday of each month, if you'd like to swing on down.

You and I, along with others along the IN/OH line, are kind of "outside the loop" where we live, in that there are no MINI dealerships nearby. Most of the clubs are closer by the dealerships, since they can coordinate events more easily. In the meantime, unfortunately, owners like us need to "bite the bullet" til MINIUSA decides to add more dealerships, I guess.

Hiya! I'm from Englewood (just a little south of Piqua), and have been looking for a club near home as well.

Does Ohio Mini/MINI have a website or email list or anything?

How do we "join" ?

Hope to see you guys at a meeting soon!

ps: Anyone got any nice curvy roads they recommend for motoring purposes in Ohio?

Welcome!
Our next meeting is Tuesday, November 6 [election day], at the Donato's Pizza on Airway Road [beside the old Page Manor theatre and that little shopping strip]. Look for the parked MINIs/Minis from 6:30 PM to around 9 PM. The club is called Ohio Mini Owners, and welcomes classic Minis, as well as the "new" MINIs. Meetings are informal, and membership is free, even though the club has been around since the first Minis took to the road. If you come, there is a member who puts out an online newsletter and you can give him your name to get on his list.

There are some really great twisty roads in southeastern Ohio. Talk to Crashton, of Mid-Ohio Motoring Club, as he has set up drives down there.

I have noticed that we are in kind of a dead zone. (check out the club map) I don't see very many Minis in this area. I have been tagging a few with business cards that I made on my computer, but no one has responded. Everyone around here just drives them like a regular car and seems unaware that clubs even exist. I'm an hour and a half north of Dayton. (Lima area)

There are some great curvy roads around the Old Man's Cave area in southeastern Ohio. I haven't had my Mini there yet, but I have driven them in my wife's Sebring.

Piqua area, I have been down there, I took my boys down to Jeff Jordan to be tortured for a week.

GREAT idea with the business cards! Hope that gets you a response soon!

I have hit some of the roads down near Old Man's Cave as well, and they are great! St. Rt. 374 was great!

Just an FYI, everyone might be intersted in this...it's from Discover Ohio's website, has a bunch of 'fall' drives! Pretty nice selection

MINI Usa really needs to have some people out there suggesting the best roads to motor on!

Does anyone know if there is a thread about scenic/curvy roads to motor on? Maybe I'll start one up...

Cheers!

It was great to meet you on Saturday. Hopefully you will be able to meet up with some fellow Mini owners closer to home, 5 hour round trip drive is a lot. However, meeting Crashton may well be worth making that drive again. He is kind of like the Dalai Lama of LAME.

Thanks BAD, nice meeting you also. I'll probably come down again some time. (weather permitting) Kelvin has only been in the rain once so far. I may also visit the Dayton club.
