R50/53 Craven or M7??
I have the M7's and they're doing what their supposed to do. Look good, install easy and since mushrooming was nipped in the bud, I didn't know Craven had some out. I expect they're fine as my experience with Craven has been good. Guess I'll go look out of curiousity. Sorry I'm not more helpful.
update:
After looking at the Cravens I guess its a toss up. The M7's seem to cover just a little more area and as I recall, were a little cheaper. Both look like they'll do the job

M7 ++
--I really like my M7 strut tower brace. The craven plates are kind of expensive at 126. For $70 more you can get the M7 strut tower brace and the brace it self is removeable from the the tower plates.
So if you just want regular handling and protect from tower mushrooming you can just leave the tower plates on.
For track or more spirited driving you can put the brace back on. Have a look, it comes apart in three places so it's real easy to take off.

Plus the M7 looks a lot nicer too and is nicely crafted aluminum too. Good stuff I promise.

I've got the black M7 plates and am very happy with them. I bought them through http://www.coopersport.com for a great price.

I just can't compare them to Craven for ya 'cause these are the only ones I've ever used.

M7 STB/Plates here. They are doing what they are supposed to do.
I can't speak to that specific Craven Speed product, but I do have other CS products and I find their quality, service, and performance to be great too.

I have the M7s which have been doing their job just fine. The Craven ST plate looks to be a good product also. I would just get the ones that you will like looking at most when you open that hood. These are just reinforcement plates from 2 companies that both have a reputation for producing high quality products. I doubt you are going to find any performance difference.

Cool Colors, I have the M7 STB on my 05 Cooper, FYI it does not fit under the stock Cooper hood, just the "S" hood, have one of those now too.
I love my M7 STB, really "hooked up" the front wheels into "one system"
I encourage you to buy them from WayMotorWorks, great guys to work with.
