Who makes custom spring rate coils?

I would like to have two sets of coils for my Cross Coilvers, one for the track and the other for daily driving. They come with 400lb up front and 337lb in the rear. I would like to put 300lb up front and 225lb in the rear. I also don't wont to pay a fortune.
Thank you
Mario

I am not sure on pricing, but check out swift springs. www.swiftsprings.com Hope this helps. And hey, they are from Japan like your Cross's so it has to be a pretty good match up.

Won't that be a PITA to swap before and after every track day. Plus aligning and setting corner weights each time and all the other little details that go along with such a swap. Not like bolting on a different set of wheels/tires and changing pads.

^ That's what I thought, but hey. I would just play with the dampening.

hmm it's not like 400#f/337#r are crowbar springrates or anything; totally livable on the daily as long as your dampers are set right. I run 391#f/278#r right now, and have run up to 448#f/448#r without knocking out fillings.

Like Gnat said, swapping out springs isn't a simple trackside operation; I'd reconsider a setup that is more dual purpose. That said, your current springs I'd say are pretty close to that.

$0.02,
Ryan

LOL, yea didn't you already do that when you bought the Cross Coilovers? Well..a fortune for the Cross dampners since you are ditching the springs...

I called Cross today and they are going to swap my current coils for softer ones for free. They were very helpful and understood I drive a lot. You guys are right about swaping springs for the track, too much work. I'm sure the new softer Cross coils will be perfect for daily driving and track. nk
Thank to everyone but ACE.

LOL, glad most of us could help. Just curious, what rates are you going with? I'd imagine a 6kg/mm front and 5kg/mm rear would be spot on for a comfy dual-purpose.

337lb front and 225lb rear. i'm sure it will be perfect. I need some what of a smooth ride because of my girlfriend, long trips and I take my 70yr old Mother to get cancer treatment twice a week. I will have fun playing with the 15 adjustments.

Yea that'll be pretty comfortable. You'll have to preload the springs a bit to get a good ratio between droop and compression travel; hopefully the shop doing it is familiar with their setup. Good luck man!

I gotta ask - how are you managing to write off the CROSS coilovers on your taxes? (I would love to write mine off, but can't think of any reason that would be even semi-legitimate for me).

Cars are very tricky with taxes and CPA's. My car is listed as advertisment for my company. Repairs, gas, insurance, and payment all run through the corporation. I had no idea I was going to spend this kind of money on a "Mini"

Thanks Chris and for the Swift link. They were very helpful when I called and are only charging $99 per coil, not bad. Free from Cross is even better.
Take care,
Mario
