The expert GPI Service technicians will be on duty that Saturday (specifically for this event...), and the boys from ALTA will be there to assist and do tech talk. The clubs fleet will be parked on the front lawn for the day, and can share war stories, and each others company, along with all the ALTA boys sharing their knowledge about the MINI! As always, the dealership, and upstairs billiard and TV lounge is open for the club members to wander through the show room, use the restrooms, etc.

Everything from Alta Performance will be offered to members at 15% off retail.

thanks for setting it up jcw!

I'm guessing gpi didn't have quite the turnout they were hoping for, but my baby was a lot more fun on the way home.

Thank you guys for including us! We had a great time and considering the amount of clouds in the sky I think the turnout was great. I know Jason, Jay and Cindy from GPi were happy with the turnout. I heard a member was poking SERIOUSLY around the showroom for a new ride. Any clues as to whom and what?

Had no idea. Doesn't surprise me though.

Perhaps we lost a member to the Lamborghini Club.

With the proper mods can't we beat the exotics anyway?

In an autocross, sure.

Open track day with equal drivers? Fat chance. There's no substitute for horsepower to weight ratio.

I recall driving down the back straight at PIR, approaching top speed possible there for a MINI (115 mph or so) before the braking zone, and as I glanced in the rear view mirror, I see a Radical SR4 coming at about 35-40 mph closure. He got the pass made very comfortably, and he came outta nowhere. I mean, shoot... he wasn't even visible in my mirrors as I entered the back straight.

I'd love to pilot some unmitigated beast like that, around the track.

I think a Radical or an Atom will lap PIR in 1:16 or so. A really good time in a MINI is 1:32. I'd get lapped in about 5 or 6 laps.
