Anyone get the MINI auxillary gauges installed between the downtubes? I was thinking of getting it, but why do I really need to know the oil temp and battery readings? Also are they backlit like the other instrument panels?

I think you can put any kind of gagues in there anyways. So if they are not backlit, like they should be, just get new gagues...

Work is terrible..its POURING rain and we have no customers as a result. So we are watching "The Making of the Italian Job". Get this...Mark Whalberg got sick and threw up when he was learning to do handbrake turns.

Had them installed yesterday. I held off for three weeks or so. They are sort part of the redundancy department but they are back lit and they may supply warning info before the comp does. I must admit I mostly wanted some more stuff to look at and I needed consolation for having to buy a new windshield after only a few months of ownership (pin size impact led to crack, argh!!!). One more point is the guages are not inline flush with everything above but set back 1 1/2 -2" allowing full use for, in my case, map light and cup holders. All in all this brings the Mini more in line with the snow globe mini for cool factor. Ok OK must go motor.

OK OK, I'm back. sorry no pics yet but other info: dealer purchased and installed total cost $500.00 (approx) a little less than half for the guages and half plus for labor (3+ hrs). I saw them at the dealer after hearing about them online so Mini-USA might have pics.
