Bwaaa... I can't decide... Help, haha

Ok, so as a few of you know I'm in the market for a 05-06 MCS or MCS GP... only problem is I'm a past Subaru owner and love the old body style, performance and AWD. I'm basically dead even on which to buy. I found a sweet 2001 turbo Impreza in near mint condition with less than 30k on the original motor and chassis. On the other hand... I love the GP and the Mini... um... guess what I'm asking for is the positives and negatives of both.

Thanx
Jon

I think you're going to get a slightly biased opinion here.

Haha I'm well aware of this... I also posted a thread on a Subaru board I frequent alot too... which I have a feeling I'll get a bias opinion over there.

Dang...For me it would be the Mini, hands down! But the Subbies are great little cars too and if you love them, that's what you should get...

I had an 02 WRX for a few years, and it was a fun and reliable car for me. I miss the AWD in the rain and in the snow (I had Blizzaks for the winter and would enjoy driving around in snowstorms!), but I like the character and feel of the MCS that I'm driving now.

For me, I like switching up my cars every once in awhile. For example, my last daily drivers have been 02 WRX, 04 GTO, and now 04 MCS. Getting something entirely different keeps me refreshed as a car enthusiast, and I get to expand my appreciation for other fun automobiles.

I'd say figure out what *your* priorities are for a car, and then determine which one most closely matches those. Make an informed decision and not an emotional one, and you won't have any regrets.

The steering feel on these two cars is completely different. If you've driven both and are still satisfied with the subie, then definitely get that. For the money, it is a much more usable car.

I read somewhere that the Saab version of the WRX has the Sti steering gear. Might be worth checking that out, as I don't think they are much more expensive on the secondary market.

I have a mini my brother has a WRX. I like mine better Postives for mini and handling and steering precision. Positives for WRX are more power and torque and able to use it with AWD.

Of course, I've got an 02 WRX wagon - low miles - ready for a new owner!
