B&M shifter How-To?

I am looking for a good (hopefully with pics) how-to for a B&M short shifter. I'm installing my Invidia cat-back on Saturday so I thought it would be a good opportunity to put the B&M, that has been sitting on the shelf for a few weeks, in.

I know outmotoring.com had one but it doesn't seem to be active on their site. The instructions I got with the kit are probably good if you know what you are doing, but alas, I do not.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

hmm, here's what I remember:

#1. remove cat-back
#2. remove heat shield under shifter
#3. remove plastic cover under shifter
#4. remove shifter cables from their ball joints. This is the tough one as I remember.
#5. Pry out old shifter [I think]
#6. Lube up new shifter and bushing and clip into shifter housing
#7. Reassemble the she-bang, using the cover spacers to ensure there's no rubbing of the new shifter on the cover/box

I hope that helps out some! I remember the instructions that came with the B&M to be pretty good.

Cheers,
Ryan

The How-to that came with the B&M did the job for me. I did manage ot download a colour version from somewhere, which was a bit better too. Cant remember where I got it from now.

The heat shield is held on by a series of little "nuts" that go over threaded studs in the body. They are pretty easy to loosen, but the upper ones can be a bugger without the exhaust either lowered or removed. Have you removed the exhaust yet?

Once that is out of the way you can easily get to the lower shift box cover and cables.

I have a link below to our website for our shifter. Then click on instructions. They are also color. For MOST of the shifter installation (even for the B&M) it is going to be the same. Might be helpful. Let me know if I can help further Good luck! SS are great!

Ya, I'm retarded. A little wiggle and the Torx popped off.

Seeing as this thread is dedicated to the B&M I will say that it is awesome! I recommend it. The install is a pain in the *** and the box that covers it (which probably isnt necesary but the solid bushings are nice) will wreak havoc on your heatshield. I had to bust out the ball-peen to reshape everything and make it fit.

My Invidia is also on, that's better than expected also. And it clears the B&M! Not by much, but it clears it!

Fun day, much was learned.
