Congrats on ordering ! As for your production week, have you set up your account on the Owners Lounge at Miniusa.com ?
Once you have the OL set up it will show your order # and will update with your Vin #.
It is best to call 1-866-ASK MINI and talk to a live person, they will have the most current info and once you are scheduled for production, then you will know what week you are in. Hope this helps.

I got the boot box organizer. Lets you drive in a spirited fashion with groceries in the back.

I also picked up two items from gominigo.com: The no holes plateholder (ask your MA to *not* drill into the bumper for the front plate, otherwise they will when they receive your car), and the brake light pulsar (after many reports on this forum about unchecked tailgating).

I haven't installed the first because the DMV hasn't gotten my plates yet, and I haven't installed the second because I'm spending most of my spare time driving

That means the manual tranny. The automatic on the MCS is tons of fun, though. Get what YOU like!

Ahhh yes I don't like driving a manual and being a 18 year old college student I would rather have an auto that way I can focus more on my driving and the road rather than when I need to be shifting.

You didn't get or want the rear fog lights? If anything, I'd get it just so that I wouldn't have a blank space in between your toggle switches.

Rear fog lights, Anthracite headliner -- those are the things people regret not getting. Search on either and you will find all the arguments for them.

I agree with Robin on the rear fogs, plus I have found the PDC very useful.

Nice color selection

Congratulations on the order and a great color. Are you DS with DS roof, DS/W or DS/black? I think I missed it in your specs.

The automatic is fine, I did go for leatherette versus cloth, but we each like our MINIs our way. If I ordered again, I would get the rear fogs, they complete the lower rear valence.

Congrats on your ordering!!!

My only regret while ordering was second guessing the rear fog lights. I'd suggest getting them.

I got the dark silver with black roof. I think it looks really sleek. Also fromw hat it sounds like the rear fog lights are something I should get. Do they serve any practical purpose?

I think the rear fogs are useful in fog (or even heavy rain) just to make your car more visible...it also fills in a missing toggle switch you'll have w/o.

In my opinion, R56 looks good w/ a center-mounted plate in a way R53 never did. Folks used to avoid drilling at all costs...now it looks much better.

Look into a glovebox organizer...either OEM or from gominigo. Also, you might consider whether you want to add a clear-bra to protect from rock chips...that's something most folks do early on.

Pork Chop -- are you talking about the boot box with the flag top? Do you think it's worth the money?

"I would rather have an auto that way I can focus more on my driving and the road rather than when I need to be shifting."

I find this to be at complete odds with what I've found in my 10 years of driving both manual and automatics. Having an automatic allows you to be less involved in the driving experience and thus affords you more opportunities to focus on other things not related to piloting your car.

You're probably in production week 40, since we only ordered ours a day apart.

I feel that drving with a manual causes you to focus more on the road when your driving than with an auto. Its easy to get into a daze with an auto b/c you arent really intereacting with the car as much as you would with a 6 speed. The manual will keep you awake and focused. I feel the world would have less wrecks if the autos were banned. So many first time drivers (just getting their license) realize that all they have to do is push the throttle for gas and the brake to stop, really missing the whole part of driving and usually turns careless.

Oh. Congrats on your order, I hope that it doesnt cause you to go insane waiting for its arrival. Continue to search this forum; it will ease the pain.
