REQ: White brake calipers???
Hi,
I've searched the forums using NAM's search as well as using Google and can't find what I'm looking for. Plenty of red calipers out there...
Anyone have a pic of Pepper White with white brake calipers? If not PW, any other color with white brake calipers appreciated. Thanks!

That's a very good point!
So, I checked the calipers on my bimmer, and and there is a little dust, but not too bad... might just work out, as long as white calipers look good on PW MINIs. I guess i'll have to photochop to see it.

You could start with BRITE white - they'll look "pepperish" white after a few miles, anyway. It actually will look good... will just require regular cleaning.
To have ANY chance of this not being a nightmare, you'd need to do two things:
1) switch to low dust pads if you haven't already (like hawk ceramics)
2) Find (or have custom mixed) some two-part hardened glossy paint. The G2 caliper paint is great, but they don't sell it in white. But you'll need something similar to withstand the heat and to shed the most dust - some folks use less expensive / less sophisticated, flatter paint and it's a real dust magnet and deteriorates quickly.

And I thought people with white wheels (like me) were crazy!
Good luck!
FWIW, I painted my Miata calipers with (blue) touch up paint years ago, and they've held up amazingly well, even through track days.

thanks for the info... If I do this, will definitely have to find some glossy high heat paint!

A buddy of mine has a white 96 Z28 with white wheels. He painted his calipers white as well. He regretted it soon afterwards since keeping them clean enough to match the wheels and the rest of the car is nearly impossible. Looked good when clean and freshly painted, though!
Here's a photo I found on google of a BMW with white calipers:

I have heard of other fanatic waxing their spring and other suspension parts because it makes them a LOT easier to clean - I don't know if wax would survive on Calipers - and you would have to be very careful not to get any contaminant on the disk/pads...
Good Luck !

I could do up a white kit for you. In about any size kit application.
Wouldn't be too far off from these yellow ones:

HHHMMMM....
Pepper White Caliper Paint and Brake Dust...That's a combination like comparing a Honda to a Mini.
I went with Red Caliper Paint because of the Black Rims that I will be getting.
The RED pops out dramatically while driving and people will notice.
It's the MOD the wife wanted because she wanted to do big brakes...She drives slow!

This picture from TCE (imagine it in white caliper) looks good.

The thing about painting a stock MINI caliper is with wear and heat from use, the white paint will get discolored or dirty pretty soon, certainly 6 to 12 months. Depends on the quality of the paint used and your use of the brakes.
With a big brake kit you may get less heat, more efficiency and a better durable "commercial" finish to the caliper that will look better (professional) and unique.
I think the idea of white caliper would be fine for Pepper White. The common alternatives would be black, red, silver or gold. A dark grey metallic like anthracite would also work but you want something that will contrast with the wheel color.
