There it is, that's the problem. I have adjusted and readjusted the HU many times and still it isn't working. Have any of my fellow drivers encountered this? If so how did you deal with it? I am about 500 miles from my 10,000 service so I plan on asking them if it isn't taken care of by then. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks.

I MAY have the same problem...

Picked up my MCS in January and really never bothered with the speed sensitive volume feature. Since I never noticed any difference in the volume at speed I just assumed that that particular feature was not turned on. Just the other day I got curious and decided to turn it on. Found out it was already set to 4 (of 6). So I upped it to 5, asked passengers and still... no change. My friend has a 3 series and says his is set too high and is so noticeable that his passengers remark on the volume increase spontaneously.

So I don't know if it's just THAT subtle or maybe mine just never worked. :???:

when it works, you definitely know the difference. if you have it set correctly it's not annoying at all, but now that it doesn't work, i'm annoyed. get it checked out, it seems like i'm going to have to. oh well.

Noone take this too much to heart, but I thought only the H/K system had the speed sensitive volume control. I know if I hold down the little note in order to program it, one of the first things it brings up is NAV VOICE. I don't have a NAV system... I think some of the controls may just be in there, regardless of whether or not the feature exists in that particular car. However... that would only make sense if the base system and the H/K used the same head unit (to keep down production costs), so... I'm not real sure... But I really do wish mine worked!

I don't have the HK, just the regular boost stereo, and I definitely have the speed volume. I had it set at 4, which was a little too much, I just lowered it to 2 yesterday, and I like that alot better.

Just a clarification, Speed Sensitive Volume is NOT active on the HK radios. The option is there, but it doesn't do anything.

Where did you hear that?
After reading the thread earlier I brought my car in to check my HK. I had set everything the first day and had never really paid attention to it. Only after catching this discussion did I realize nothing was happening with my stereo.
Now the weird part is that after checking my car out today the Service agent said it was working fine, ran a diagnostic...a okay, did a road test...worked like a charm... hmmmm......
He did not tell me the HK didn't have this feature.
When I mentioned the 'driver function' didn't make any difference either all I got was a blank look. (It was kinda spooky!)
I'm going to press the 'driver function' issue but I'll drop the 'ssv' if you're right.

The driver function primarily shifts the image from the driver's door to a more centered position. This is either straight delay added to the driver's door speakers, or a combination of delay and a frequency specific phase filter (all-pass fitler). In my car the image shift too far to the passenger side. I feel mono vocalists should be just left of the mirror. With driver off the image is vaguely around the driver's a-pillar, and with it on it is to the right of the mirror. I used the balance control to bring it to the left a little. Neat feature but not ideal or my height/seating position, though I leave it on, with the adjustments I've made.

my driver function shifts the sound when I turn it off or on manually. On brings the sound up front for my settings and off brings up the sound a little more from the rear speakers.* It's more centered. The trouble is it doesn't do this automatically.
Check my reasoning...
With no one in the car with me I can hear the difference doing a manual on/off. Now if someone gets into the car with me and I do a manual check, I can still hear the shift. I would think that the sound would stay to the rear as above*.
Me by myself, driver on: sound to the front
Me by myself, driver off: sound to the rear (centered)
Two or more, driver on or off (shouldn't matter): sound to the rear (centered)
Does that make sense?

Hummm how do u activate the speed sensitive volume?

I have the HK and I never was able to figure out how to make sure if the speed sensitive volume worked... I always just assumed that it worked and that i just wasnt able to tell the difference.
