The people at Remus have it! Here's a few pics and a review.

seems pointless to me. I would think that would cause more harm then good. weight, back pressure, ect.

that option from them has been around for a couple of years. Looks great. You have to drop your spare though. Not that I have ever really needed my spare, but I like it there. I also agree with what FL_blue_MINI said, somewhat pointless, but it does have some aesthetic appeal.

Modifying the r50 for horsepower or engine performance is pointless. Any exhaust you add is for two things....looks and sounds. This one definitely helps with the looks....and all remus exhausts sound amazing from what I've been told.

What about weight? I've seen some decent weight loss from an aftermarket exhaust. If it dosen't add power, it should at least weigh less, right?

I guess....but how much weight savings are we talking? I've seen that most just save you 12 lbs....i can't image the tiny extra muffler adds more than 3-4 pounds. You won't notice that small extra weight on a car with less than 100 hp.

Its not much, but it adds up. Cheap, light wheels, no back seat, that sounds like my car. Oh wait, leather, HID's and a sunroof. Dammit.

yah.....and with the cooper, the rear is already lighter than the front. Especially with people that went with the HID. Our exhaust is already much lighter than the MCS, our battery is up front, the HID's are heavy.

Taking too much weight out of the rear without touching the fronts doesnt really help much. Removing the rear seats and changing to a ligther exhaust is removing close to 60 pounds from the rear of the car. Balance is important too.

don't forget that the spare is in the back, which is about what the MCS battery weighs...unless you have taken that out.

oh good call.....

one time at an autocross, i tried that weight removal.....removed the rear seats, removed the spare tire, and had an after market exhaust. The car definitely felt more stable through the cones when i tossed the rear seats back in and left the tire attached.
