Old thread, I know, but I can't find this info. anywhere (maybe I'm not good at using the search tool). Does someone know the actual dimensions of the secret compartment (preferably without the sleeve)?

A single-DIN is supposedly 180mm x 50mm (7" by 2" in US, which is 178mm x 51mm) with varying depth. I'm looking at Mini-ATX/Mini-ITX cases, and it'd be a great help to know what would fit -- including depth.

Check out this thread there is no actual dimension listed but the standard but what i can tell you is that a Mac Mini sized case will fit in the secret compartment. The AOpen used in my installation is exactly the same size as a Mac Mini.

Thanks, schatzy. You and lacning were the main catalysts for even thinking about pursuing this, so I've already drooled over your install many times.

It looks like AOpen's mini pc case is 166(W) x 48(H) x 157(D) mm, so at least 157mm deep is good to know. Did you leave the factory sleeve/molding in place for the secret compartment? Or am I seeing it wrong?

*EDIT: I looked up the specs on the original/1st gen Mac Mini and it is: 165(W) x 51(H) x 165(D) mm. So, it's a pretty close fit to a single-DIN.
