Sick of the check engine light coming and going whenever it pleases. Every time I call mini of towson and ask, they tell me "it should be ready any time".

For those who dont know, I guess there is a software bug that shows a false CEL in R56 non-S automatics, our car has it. Just comes on for a few miles here and there, and then goes away.

ANY word on the software update and when it will be ready?

 

v26 is already available. I had mine done at Mini of Nashville 2 weeks ago.

 

Iwas at my Mini dealer last week here in Florida, and I asked about the update. He said that it was here and for me to make an appointment at my convenience.

 

Seems the dealers are installing the update as the cars come in for anything at all.

 

Does anyone know what is in the V26 code? Is it listed anywhere.

I'd like to fix a couple of software things. The speedo is off 4-5 mph at 60, and the throttle response in "non-sport" mode is sluggish.

I had the update in late July. I'm not sure what version the update was, but it was for the engine light. Went to Towson.

 

Is there a place to look to figure out what version your car has?

 

My wife's MC had the software update in June. (Mini of Dallas)

 

Those are probably by design. Car speedos are typically optimistic. That is to insure that with mfg variations that no speedo reads lower than actual speed.

The non-sport mode is probably designed to smooth out throttle inputs for better mileage. That's why there is a sports mode.

 

mine was updated last month when i brought it in for the 'check engine light' turning on.

 

The only way to figure out what version you have is for the dealer to hook it up and look. As far as what it fixed, the SA tells me that it has some parameter values that are changed which is what was giving false check engine lights.
