Suspension Package or after market

Do you think the suspension package worth the $500 or I can find a better deal/package with the after market parts (like a set of springs and rear sway bar)? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Not sure as I did the aftermarket. I used Alta for springs and rear sway and am very happy, but I started stock(not a bad suspension for street). Post on the Suspension mods section and see what you get there. Smarter people over there than I.

I'm biased since I ordered the sport suspension on my MC.

I wanted I little more than the stock suspension provides, and I reckoned that $500 was a lot less than aftermarket parts and labor to install thicker sway bars, stiffer springs, and tuned shocks.

If I had been planning on installing coilovers, lowering the car, or other more agressive suspension modifications I probably wouldn't have ordered it.

But I just plan to drive it when it gets out of VDC.

500$ for an upgraded suspension probably is a pretty good deal for a suspension package when compared to what other manufactures would do. I acutally took a test drive in a mini with the upgrade and didnt really feel that is made that much of a difference, but it was just a test drive. Personally ive very happy with the ride/handling balance of the stock suspension and wont do anything to the minis. Having already put coilovers on a previous civic I owned, the car is pretty impressive that im holding back any thoughts of changing the suspension so far From the performance side the LSD is going to be the biggest gain if you are going to be driving it hard. If you arent, the normal suspension is more than enough fun for street driving.

I don't think you can find a better deal, but I think you will have more options/better quality with the aftermarket parts. When it's time to change my runflats, I plan to go with aftermarket springs, sway bar, and wheels. I'd thought about doing springs already, but the last couple of times I was ready to pull the trigger Tirerack had them backordered.

I have the upgrade and really enjoy it compared to the standard, however it is OEM...

It does have some room for improvement, but for $500 I'm not complaining.

You can get better stuff out of the aftermarket, but you can also cobble together a setup that is pretty bad by going aftermarket and getting pieces that don't work together. The safest thing to do is go with the sports suspension upgrade, or the JCW suspension upgrade. Or, get help from someone who knows from experience what works and what doesn't.

I went with the Sport Suspension upgrade on my MCS and love it. It does have some room for improvement though. Namely there is still a wheel gap with my car. I do have a set of H&R lowering springs for my car but have yet to decide if I want to go that route yet....if not I will just sell them on NAM.

You can expect to see Sports Suspension parts for sale when the JCW suspension kit comes out.

Yeah, I agree. Skip the 'Sport Suspension' and wait for the JCW stuff to come out.
