Depends on your dealer, though with a Unichip you can just install/uninstall it in 5/10 minutes and the dealer doesn't have to know about it.

The beauty of the chip is that you can unplug it whenever you need to. have they givin you an issue with that coilpack or brakes or exhaust?

No, it will not. It isn't any different from any other mod...well, maybe it is, in that it is easily removed in case you are worried about your service dept. Besides, I believe there is some sort of Federal law here prohibiting manufacturers from voiding warranties because of modifications.

Anybody here won a case using that law? I don't think the UniChip works but that is beside the point.

No, they have been really cool about the upgrades I've made so far. No issues with the Coilpack, Brakes or Exhaust.
I was wondering about he unichip becuase I am waiting for a M7 pully and they told me yesterday when my car was in for inspection that that would definetly void my warrenty.

I'm looking at the unichip now as an alternative.

As my mechanic told me, how would they know about the pulley, unless they took apart your engine? It's way down in there, and you cannot even see it unless you take it apart.

As for the UnuChip not working, well, everyone is entitled to his own opinion. I have mine in my Cooper for 3 years now and the mileage has improved quite a bit for a CVT, as has the overall power. The UniChip has thus made its way into my MCSa, with the same results.

Any mechanic can see a supercharger pulley no problem (MCS), maybe he's talking about the crank pulley...

2nd that it is super easy to see the supercharger pulley.

Regarding chip...I would not go in to the dealer with say a blown motor or something mechical that could anyway be related to a chip and expect them to honor your warranty. Pull the chip whenever you go to the dealers..plain and simple.

I stand corrected.

With regard to the Unichip, it does not affect the engine itself, but rather the computer. It's just a PNP. Since it is easy to disconnect and reconnect, just disconect it to safeguard yourself or ease your worries.
