R56 Gauge Face Scan needed

Anyone interested in supplying a decent front and back scan and some pictures of the process of getting to the Speedo face on a R56? ...and a scan of the Tach front? and back (that one is easy)

I want to get cranking on the graphics of a set of custom gauge faces for the R56

In return I will supply a set of Out Motoring Gauge Faces once I get the design, layout and prototyping done....

Please email me direct if interested...

That will be sweet! I'd LOVE to get the black and gray checkered gauges that you offer for the R53 for my R56! Let us know as soon as they're available!

Guys, I don't think they even make a sub box for the R53. Why would they make one for the R56?

An internet forum thread "off track"??? NO!!!

Remember the old joke (now the thread has moved onto jokes!! ) about newsgroups? One guy post a question in the "How two forum": How do you change a light bulb?

He gets the following replies:

923 replies saying changing lightbulbs does not fall into the "How To" catagory and should be posted elsewhere.

321 replies replying to the above 923, explaining how it DOES belong in the How to's.

612 replies asking what kind of light bulb he uses and what bulbs are better than others.

1243 replies saying you don't need to change lightbulbs if you had used flouresent bulbs which last much longer.

756 replies flaming other posters for not answering the question posted.

214 posts flaming the flame posts, saying those users should be banned from the forum.

3 informative replies on how to change light bulbs properly.

710 replies asking why the bulbs are being changed? and explaining that most people change the bulbs too often....

17 replies of jokes about lightbulbs and how it takes more than 1 person to change a bulb.

14 replies regarding a completely different thread, accidentally posted to this thread.

4 replies deleted by the moderator

Okay, so this thread has evolved....I will add to the fire.

I do, actually, since it was brought up have a design for a false floor sub box for the R56 that is in my car now that I am considering reproducing. It uses the space where the tools go (if you have them) and about 2.5" of the space above it and to the left and houses a JL 8" perfectly with .33' cubit feet of internal air space and on the right has a flat spot for mounting an amp while hiding all wiring. To keep it all hidden, I have a removable cover (covered with matching carpet) with a hole cut into the middle that mates up perfectly with the grill of the JL sub so all you see is the rim and the grill...the edges mate up with the cross beam that the rear seats rest on and the sides mate up to the contours of the side panels in the car and the back edge has cutouts to allow air flow into the two rear vents for air pressure release (when you shut the doors, there are two flaps that allow air to escape so the doors don't bounce open...)....lift up to see the amp/wiring which is raw MDF...

What do you think this is worth WITHOUT a sub?
$$$$$

$$ 275

$$$ 300

$$$$ 425

anyone?

You forgot to mention the one post (at a minimum) where the author gets upset and compares another users innocuous actions to those of Hitler.

PS: Sorry... I don't have the scans or the car you are looking for.

If I don't get an answer to my question supplied with fully documented images, scans and details within 5 minutes I will be forced add a PT Cruiser section to the site to make up for lost income while this project has been brought to a crawl with these constant off topic message.

What were we talking about?

PT what?

This thread is great! Sorry you're not getting anywhere with your scans Aaron!

To answer your other question, MTX Thunderforms go for around $300 unloaded (no sub or amp), Q-Logics can go for as little as $150 unloaded, and JL Audio Stealthboxes go for $300+.

I think your box is comparable to all of these, and think that anything less than $300 is not a bad deal. I would be more inclined to build my own for that kind of money, but a lot of people don't have the tools or skills necessary to build a box themselves.

HUH??????

Aaron, my VERY FIRST post, posted only minutes from your original, has PICTURES of the FRONT and BACK of the speedo, and a STEP by STEP of how to remove it.

Here is the link again.

He needs someone to dismantle their dash, remove the gauge face (the semi-transparent sheet of plastic with the speed numbers printed on it), scan both sides of the face on a fladbed scanner and then email the images to him.

It might be nice to lay a good ruler on the flatbed scanner as well (off to the side) for scale... just in case.

Getting an accurate layout of the OEM piece is the first step in designing a quality aftermarket piece.

If I had an '07 coupe, I'd hook him up. That second post will definately help the person who ultimately helps Aaron out.

yes, a scan would be on a flatbed scaner so that I can reproduce the graphics...to scale and be sure that everything matches up....
