What is the best thing to clean the plastic on the wheel flairs, and the spoiler, and the rear lower lip ??

Be sure to check out this thread for information on cleaning the wrinkled black finish of the wheel arches, front spoiler, etc. Here is another article I found on the net that mention using peanut butter as a good cleaner:

Popular Mechanics (look for the mention of peanut butter near the bottom of the article)

Hope this helps!

Peanut Butter!

Apply it like wax. If you get any on the paint, rewax the painted area (with your regular car wax). If you get wax on your trim, re-PeanutButter it.

This gets rid of the white wax overwipes that are common on black plastic trim.

As this is more of detailing question than a mod I'm moving this thread to the Detailing 101 forum.

"Simple green" is the a great thing to the plastic, inside the wheel wells and aspecially the wheels & tires. Just a bucket with warm water and a sponge with a brillow pad on side of it and your golden.... won't even scratch.....

Mothers' Back to Black works great... for a few days. It doesn't actually remove the wax. Within a week or two, the wax smears resurface. Peanut butter does work great; peanut OIL works as well, and is cleaner to work with...

I really like a product made by Lexol called Vinylex, it makes the trim really black without looking shiney or greasy and seems to last longer than any of the other products I have ever used and I've used alot of them over the years.

The mothers works very well on a temporary basis. Another I like to use is Meguires vinyl protector. Neither of them will get rid of the wax swirls so I will soon be trying peanut oil.
