I was contemplating buying the Power Steering Fan Shroud from Moss Mini but I thought I read somewhere that the later cars already had some kind of shroud on the PS Fan.

Is that true?

I can't really see a fan under my 2006 MCSA but haven't spent much time under the car yet to know where this thing is...

I believe the shroud is on the automatics only for some reason. My wife's '05 MCSa has the fan shroud but my '06 MCS doesn't. I asked my SA about it and he said the shroud is only on the auto (seems strange). It is a black, flat plastic tube going from under the plastic area of the bumper back to the fan.

 

Tube? From what I've seen it's a black plastic "screen" that covers the fan itself. I thought it was on all 06 cars, but I could be mistaken...

 

My 06 mcs 6 speed has a plastic shroud/screen/protector that covers the ps fan to offer a degree of protection from road debris. No bling factor but as you said you can't see it any way.

They updated the p/s fan shroud on 05 cars and newer cars. if you had a p/s fan replaced it already comes with this update screen. The updated screen is pleanty protection as i never seen a car come back to my dealer with a rock issue.

 

05s have the fan cover.

 

 

 

You're correct, the first one is what is on my wife's '05 MCSa. My '06 MCS just has a very cheap looking plastic cover over the fan itself.

I must be going blind. Moss clearly states that 05-06 already have a plastic shroud from the factory.
