questions on my first set of mods

hi ya'll. finally after 3 years, i've moved up from a 2002 MC to a 2004 MCS :D ordered parts for it just after a week of ownership. obviously, i can't wait to mod. the shipping time of almost 1 month from the U.S. to my country is going to kill me

i probably should be asking these questions BEFORE I ordered stuff from M7...but i was way too excited

1. with the M7 16% pulley, do i really need the M7 crank pulley to go with it? and was i right in choosing a 16% pulley?
2. will there be any cooling (intercooler) issues with getting a pulley? (my friend who has a 19% pulley on his MCS got an aftermarket IC "just to be safe")

thanks

From what I've heard as long as you are running a small % pulley (15% 16%) there is no need to upgrade the cooling. When you run 19% though they spin so fast that all they do is creat to much heat, and no more power gains than a 15%. I'm sure that can be fixed with a better intercooler though

good thing i didn't order that crank pulley i've read some horror stories about aftermarket crank pulleys. i tend to believe whatever i read

about getting an intercooler...will it be worth the money considering i'm "only" getting a 16% pulley?

I don't think that the 16% pulley will generate enough heat that a larger intercooler will be needed. I'm running an Alta air diverter W/ intercooler sprayer and I love it.

seems like i'll only be needing to upgrade the IC when i'm really up the modding ladder

about remapping or dyno tuning...i'm thinking of doing this when i've completed all of my external bolt-on mods, which i think would be the best way to go

does anyone here have SMT6?

thanks to the link

btw, what can you say about my choice of M7 intake & pulley? i was initially opting for an Alta setup, but there was just something about M7...

could be that my name starts with M and 7 best describes my...nevermind LOL
