Maryland's New "Secret Warranty Law"
Maryland's New "Secret Warranty Law"
Maryland has just passed a law which requires auto manufacturers to disclose "secret warranties" directly to car owners. No longer will the manufacturers be allowed to secretly slip a "technical advisary" to the dealers and hope most afflicted customers will never know about it. I don't know if it's retroactive or not, but i suspect I will be getting more mail in the future.
And, I think this point, in particular, should be remembered, in case you don't find out about the warranty until after repairs have been made:
"Also under the new law, consumers who paid for repairs before knowing about an adjustment program will be able to seek reimbursement from the automaker within two years of the payment or within one year after the manufacturer sent out the notice on the program. The law is not retroactive, so only repairs as of October will be reimbursed".

Is there a list that might exist already for 02-06 models? I noticed that the air filters on the cowl vents had self-distructed and when I went to the dealer the parts guy said that a lot had been replaced under warranty and when I checked with the service advisor he honored the warranty and replaced them at no charge - parts or labor. My car is nearly 5 years old and has only 40K on it but I want to catch all and any items that exist out there.
Sounds like it to me. According to that site, there aren't any for the 2006 & 2007 MINI.

Also, they are not up to date. I checked Toyota and they are months behind. They "used" to have MINIs listed under BMW and there were many for early years. Try here http://www.mycarstats.com/, one for MCS 2006, more for MC.
