I found an alternative online vendor that carries the JIC-Cross coilovers for the R50/R53 MINI: Hop Up Racing

I have no experience with this retailer, nor have I ever ordered from them, but I thought I'd share an alternative source for those that are interested in this wonderful coilover set and don't want to struggle with that "other" vendor that carries them.

I've never heard of them, either, but they have a good price on PSS9's ($1700).

 

Not long ago Todd of TCE lamented about selling Wilwoods along side internet retailers who offer no added value.
“TCE is also a (albeit) small shop with honest overhead costs; rent, utilities, and the like. I am not a laptop retailer.”
“As a racer I offer you both behind the wheel and behind the wrench feedback and do more than simply click and ship. You'll speak with me from the start to the finish, not to a counter person.”

The same applies to suspensions. When you purchase from an internet retailer who merely takes your order and has units dropped shipped you do not get the attention to detail or insight on setup. HUR has absolutely no idea what they are selling. Did you read their ad? It says they are selling you items not included with the MINI kit!

And when you purchase from non-NAM retailers you are not supporting the very site that provides you with information.

usual vendor rules apply imo. call and talk to the person and hear what they have to say. Don't rely on internet hear say from either side of the camp (pro/con). Make your own decisions and do your own research and you concious and car will thank you for it.

 

meb I appreciate your input; you're definitely a respected MINIac in my eyes. I'm also impressed Don has stepped up to the plate and made his price competitive.

 

Very interesting place as well; the shop is hidden off rolling country roads - the kind that we all like to drive fast. When you pull into the shop area, the drive is very tight because there are about 60 Porsche and BMWs in the parking area - a few are very beasty.

The shop atmosphere is very professional with lots of ball busting...amusing...entertaining. And Will wasn't feeling well when I was there. So, I can only imagine the level of sarcasm...It was a great experience.

 

A limited number of CROSS coilovers remain in stock. So if you are interested in the only system for the MINI that allows for independent ride height adjustment now is a good time to buy. And I will extend the price discount for NAM members for just a bit longer. (JIC is eliminating the internet retailers that undercut their pricing structure!)
