Ireland Engineering Cat back exhaust

I'm in the market for an inexpensive cat back exhaust (max $650) and saw the IE exhaust online. The price is right $425. I'm interested to hear from those with first hand experience with this exhaust. How loud is it compared to stock? How is the install?
TIA

The sound is great , sounds like the magnaflow and the price is really good as well. They used the Dinan design and are using a flowmaster muffler. Tips look great and it should not be hard to install if you have a floor jack and someone to help out. I live in LA near by IE as well. If you need any help shoot me a pm and i will give you a hand installing it.

One just sold on Ebay for $200, free shipping. Almost makes me wish I grabbed it.

Any Report on the Ireland Exhaust for Mini?

Anyone have one of these installed that can report on sound levels, quality, satisfaction? I have an '02 MCS.

I love the price, and Ireland looks like a good group, only making/carrying a few parts.

I just bought their 22mm Rear Sway bar (hollow with adjustable slider arms instead of holes in the ends of the bars). Others report satisfaction with that item (we shall see - it will be my first mod).

Thanks,
Scott

Mine shipped yesterday, so I will also do a report when it arrives and after I install it. The price is right for me. Now I'm curious as to why an Alta Sportone costs almost doible the price?

So my impressions are:
-1) Cost..wow..great bang for the buck!
-2) Sound...it aint quiet...but I really dont have anything to compare it to..lets just say people know you are not stock
-3) Fitament...great..only suggestion is flanged hangers so they cant slide. In particular rear muffler and exhaust section. I addressed with a small hose clamp and washer
-4) Quality..I would give it a 10 all the way up to the rear exhaust section. The finishing should be cleaner on the passenger side cutout on the exhaust. I spent a good few hours with a grinder and rat tail file on mine to make perfect. Also suggest maybe putting a directional duct so that exhaust exits the passenger side exhaust tip more evenly. Although at the end of the day flow is most important.
-5) Overall...would be hard for me to spend 2 to 3 even 4 times more on something that the numbers would not be any different in terms of HP. Would rather spend it on go fast/handle better bits. So 1+ on the Ireland

Everything Clyde said is correct. The exhaust is a work of art until you get to the tips. They aren't really tips. Just 2.5" SS piping with a hole torched in it, then they weld a short piece of 2.5" piping over the hole to create the second tip. For the price, you can't go wrong. Make sure you get some 2" bolts to connect the resinator to the cat pipe. It doesn't come with any.

mine did not fit but i wasn't too mad since i paid $350. i had minicorsa install it (along with 15* s/c pulley) and it was very crooked. took it to coco @ super tuning performance (818-988-2335) and he cut a section out, bent it to clear the cabrio bracing but still not enough. he added some spacers to the bracing and then it cleared. also had to adjust the hangars to make the muffler sit level.

if you're in the van nuys area, i highly recommend both of the above shops. polite, prompt and fair price on the work!

Can you post a video at WOT, I'm thinking of getting one.

Any droning issues?

Pretty much any exhaust will fit the cabrio but due to the brace where the exhaust branches out there will be tinkering to do.

When ordering the system we need to know the month and year your MINI was built to build the system that will fit your MINI best. Very little if any tinkering.

Good service right there- that kind of stuff should be expected! Watch out for those exhausts that say 'fit 02-06'!
