Spoiler swap... what tape??

I'm swapping one MCS spoiler out for another one (different color) and was wondering if I HAD to use double-sided foam tape and if so, what type do they use?

Thanks

The factory stuff looks and acts like the 3M tape that you can buy.

the 3m tape really, really sticks stuff together.

Haven't seen it around (also haven't looked) where would be the best place to look, Autozone? Sears? What do you think?

Autozone carries it. Look for the stuff with the orange cover tape.

Excellent, thanks guys

I hope it turns out looking as good as I think

glnr13 @ the m|µ did this photoshop for me...

So... an Astro Black spoiler on a silver roof. It SHOULD give the spoiler the contrast that I'm looking for

I have used in the past a double sided tape sold in the radio control car and airplane stores under the generic term "servo tape ". It sticks REALLY good so if your local auto store doesn't have what you need give it a shot.

^^ the only 2 sided tape I'll use... sticks like non other and sticks even harder when it gets hot.

Thanks Randy/prime
I plan on "Test Fitting" it with just the bolts first, then, if it looks good I'll tape it down I just hope the silver one comes off easy enough

That can be a real bear to get off. I am sure there are several threads about it around here somewhere . I found a heat gun and thick monofiliment fishing like to be necessary.

Yup. Already expected to need heat and dental floss to "saw" through the existing tape

Go with fishing line, the floss will break way to easily.
