MINI's glove box organizer - any other options?

Picked up a MINI glove box organizer at the dealership today. I "installed" it before leaving, but it doesn't seem to be a good fit and shuffles around. I even had someone at the dealership make sure I had it in there right. So I walked back in and got a refund. Does anyone here know of an aftermarket organizer that fits better? I had one in my "02 MINI and it had a snug fit and didn't shuffle around when I removed or placed thing in the glove box.

Same issue here. I am thinking about afixing it to the door to stabilize it. A little double sided tape might do it. Will let you know how it works out.

Same problem here...not very well designed. Double sided tape may make it better.

Agreed...the gb organizer is weird, but I can see why it's designed that way due to the way the gb door opens. Affixing it somehow would help, but I'm still studying the "situation."

The folks at www.gominigo.com have offered the Glove Box Tidy for several years. Mini owners in the U.S. and in the U.K. have raved about it.

They're still working on an updated insert for the R56.

I have no problem w/ the MINI version...it just needs some sort of hold-down, imo.

I have it, but I'm not real enamored with it. It seems too flimsy and needs the tie-down, as you noted.

The secret compartment seems to hold more CDs than the stock insert.

Right...my MINI CD holder fits perfectly in the secret compartment!!! I do like the elastic straps on the OEM organizer and the overall finish of it. The biggest problem I have with it is that if the organizer is to the left or right of center the glovebox door will not close. This needs a remedy. That said...I like the glovebox much more w/ an organizer than I would without!!!

So true, mine also sits kind of akward and sometimes makes the glovebox hard to shut. Its not that it moves around it just seems like its too big alltogether...

I agree. My co-worker got her Glove Box Tidy and I really loved it. Very good quality and fits perfect. I'm actually waiting for them to start producing the 2007 glovebox tidy.

2007 Glovebox R56 Tidy - Prototype is done! Many thanks to NWMINI for allowing me to sit and design this in their showroom. Reviews of the prototype from the sales guys are very positive. Production is probably a few weeks off.

Okay, I actually have something good to say about the OEM gb organizer following some study. First, the elastic straps on the top shelf can hold a lot of stuff. It might be nice to modify it by tacking the elastic here and there to better hold items of different thicknesses. Items with clips work nicely with these elastic straps, too.

I also have a soft cloth in my glovebox for little detailing tasks. I keep it on the bottom shelf and to get at it (it won't slide out) I actually tilt the entire gb organizer up. Everything on top stays put due to the elastic strips and the tilt action means I can really fill up that bottom level. This is a totally different type of function to the '02-06 gb organizer.

I really feel like...for me...I finally understand this '07 OEM gb organizer and it now works the way I need it to. I'm really glad I have it...but it did take some time and head-scratching!!!!!!

So has anyone yet to find an organizer that fits better than what MINI offers?

I have anticipated this moment for a long time. Congratulations on getting the updated version worked up. My order is already in. Thanks, too, for the early order discount.

I now have one OEM glovebox organizer for sale, cheap. If I don't take it out and stomp on it first.

I also returned the OEM version while still at the dealer. Just ordered the GoMiniGo version. Hope it fits well.

I've already got their brake light flasher and no holes front license plate holder. I don't have any back seats, so can't use their back seat straps, but otherwise, I seem to have most of the things they make.

It has to be. I first heard of the GloveBox Tidy on the mini2 site, where people were just raving about it. Took me a while to figure out it was a U.S. product and yet all of these Britons were talking it up.

Figured if they were willing to buy from a foreign company and have it shipped over there and loved it, it must have been pretty special. So I'm quite confident that the R56 model will be just as good.
