Ireand Eng. adjustable control arms squeak...

So after about 2-3000 miles of driving on the Ireland Engineering control arms (both upper/lower), my wife was telling me of a squeak coming from the back, checked it out, sure enough, when moving the control arms up and down they squeak at the bushings.

So i sprayed some silicone/lubricant at and around the bushings and it went away for a few weeks, now it's come back a little bit.

Is there a fix for this or do i need better lubricant? KY...? Vaseline?

...ah...Mobil 1 synhtetic grease generaosly applied to everything. They never made a sound for nearly a year - thru a winter too. Don't expect those poly bushings to last long...make sure you check them often. Mine went bye bye at about 20K miles and let loose on during a track event cause a wild spin -off that caused the car to become air born

Are your IE control arms the "street/race" version with the cylindrical poly bushings, or the "race" arms with the heim joint ends?

...my IE non-teflon lined hiem joints lasted about 5-6K miles on public roads. That equates to a fair amount of track miles...and I would expect more miles from these on the track, but not a lot more.

The hiem joints replaced the poly...

Probably not. That is the case for just about any poly urethane bushings. That is why they are considered more of a race or track oriented upgrade on most cars.

Might want to call them to see if they recommend any special type of grease for their bushings. I know sometimes certain types of grease work better on poly than others.

IE won't chime in...I doubt they follow...

I've never experienced a manufacturer pre-lubing poly...usually up to the end user. It's easy, but a PITA since the control arms have to come out and bushings removed. Figure 1 - 1.5 hours

Ireland engineering stuff squeaks. I have their 22mm swaybar and it works great BUT it squeaks like a SOB... while going slow though.
