Just got an e-mail from Robyn, who said she would call me when they leave Columbia, which is about an hour and half away from us here in Charlotte. So, once I get that phone call, I can call anyone who's interested in meeting up with the group at Kay's Ice Cream and Snack on Freedom Drive in Charlotte. One of our local MINI owners has their own ice cream shoppe too. John and Tina own THE SHACK in Charlotte, NC and they serve homemade ice cream. I sent Robin an email to let them know about it but she hasn't gotten back to me. Maybe the gang could get together during the hot summer months and support some of our own!

 

Sorry I can not make this one as I have committed to car show, 6-10-07. I can not eat ice cream, too much sugar and thats a problem with me. Hope you other members get out there and support this ice cream run! Luke

Their ETA to be in Charlotte is 1:15ish at Kay's Ice Cream on Freedom Dr. From there we will convoy up to Statesville.

Unfortunately I am stuck waiting on a 23 weeker ...... Have some ice cream for me

 

There is no Ice Cream spot on Freedom drive
I met with a small group near there and went to Cornelius and then in Mooresville and departed Statesville at 5pm

Had a blast but had to head home.

 

Yeah, we must have just missed you. After I left the house, I had no way to update you, but they ran really behind, then we got lost, then they got lost, and we didn't get to Cornelius until about 4:30. The Ice Cream place on Freedom Drive was in the Freedom Mall, and there was a consensus vote to skip it and go to Cornelius. Twasn't the best area of town. We waited there at Freedom Mall a long while, and hate we didn't hook up. We ended up going tp Statesville, as did Anna, and met another group up there. But we sure do hate me missed you..... See ya in a couple of weeks at the Mt. Mitchell run!!

Jason and everyone, It was great to meet you all today and thanks for hanging around while our group was doing our impromtu "tour" of Charlotte. Glad that some of you were able to make it up to Cornelius for our stop up there as well as our evening stop up in Statesville.

 

Robyn and friends, sorry I missed it, didn't leave VIR till too late to catch everybody in Statesville so just headed home. Glad you had fun and have a safe and delicious trip the rest of the way!
