On the verge of ordering new Rota RB's but...

I can never connect with a live person at the Racinglab in seeking answers to my questions, so I'll try here. I want to put the gunmetal Rota RB's on my 06 (late production) Mini S. Questions: 1) Has anybody done this and if so will they fit with stock brakes. 2) What size hub rings work? 3) Will my lug bolts work with their wheels.

These should be simple questions, but I can never get a live body on the phone!

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you, Gene

Oooh, I'm interested in this one too. I just noticed that they added some sizes: 16x7, 16x8, 17x7.5 and 17x8.5. Please keep us posted.

Sweeeeet. 16X7 is the size I'm thinking about. how much do they weigh? Any idea if they'll accept a 14mm lug?

I e-mailed the seller on e-bay - I believe it's 18racing - and they did respond to my questions minus whether they would accept a lug from a post 05/06 production MINI with the 14mm lugs. That is all I need to know.

Can't wait to see those on Mr Moe.

Placed them on the scale... <16 lbs. (Still had the protective plastic on.)

A few answers, I think.

Spoke with Jessica, Rota and the Racinglab. All agreed that they would fit without need for hubcentric rings. They are all a +40 offset, and stock brake clearance is no issue. On the lug bolt question I got two different answers. Jessica said if mine don't fit (I have a late build date in 06) they have ones that will. Rota and the Racinglab said there should be no issue. I have the 12's on mine which seems odd for a late build date, but so be it.

I plan on ordering the RB's in Royal Gunmetal and will work out the bolt issue once I get them.

This is an awesome looking wheel, and at 16 pounds, it falls within the "I can live with" weight category.

Done deal

I ordered my gunmetal wheels yesterday, along with some lugs which Jessica said I could return if needed. I have a late build date 06' but with the 12X1.5 bolts. She, Jessica, wasn't quite sure if what came stock would fit so to be safe I just ordered new ones and I'll see. If the folks that got their wheels on this post have fitted them on I would love to know how the lugs fit.

I plan on putting the PNero-Zeros on in 205-50-16's. It should be fun.

I've got the PZero Nero's on my 18's but went with Nitto Neo Gens for my 16's. I have them in a 205/50/16 and just LOVE these tires. Some friends of mine have them on there Mini's and just raved about them so I gave them a try. Man am I glad I did. You can read up on them a Discount tire direct. They were $76.00 each. $366.00 "to my door" (no shipping or sales tax). Read the reviews for the tire. The reviews were spot on for me.

yes, newer lug bolts will fit

I bought my subzero's through Jessica at 18racing and even visited the Rota distributorship here in the bay area to see for myself. The RBs have the same hole sizes as the Subzeros. Newer 14 x 1.25 lugs will fit in these holes, no problem. They seat perfectly.

I too am anxiously awaiting the RBs in 17's. Can't wait till they come in!

18Racing is set to ship my gunmetal gray RB's out tomorrow, my new tires should be here this week, so by next Tuesday or Weds. (5th or 6th) I should have them on my Mini and will post pictures.

Yea, the 15x8 et35 RBs are at the top of my list right now. . . But too many choices for tire size. . . 195/55 or 195/50 I think. . . :impatient

Also, I may special order in White/polished. . . or Gold/polished. . . or. .

Best looking MINI style wheel, IMO. Classic styling, updated sizes and offsets. Just wish there was a 16x8 size though. . .

Lets see some pics! 3/4 view with size and offset, tire size, color (indoors and sun, please) etc. Anyone else find it tough to get any info and pics on these wheels?

If others don't beat me to posting pics...

I was chatting with Mr. Moe (forum member) yesterday. I told him, 18racing will try to fit 16s on my car (for photo sample), although I plan to get 17s on mine. Anyway, waiting to hear back from 18racing this week to do test fitment.

Stay tuned..

At this time, they only have 16s available - ready for shipping!

17s are NOT available yet - at least not for another 3mos. She will check if 17x8.5 will fit the MINI as well. This will be nice option for those who like the staggered setup, like myself.

If 16" RBs weigh 16 pounds I wonder what the 17s will weigh. I'm very interested in seeing a photo of the 16s on a MINI.

Also, the 15x7 are 14lbs, so I assume the 15x8 are 15 lbs, give or take a few ounces.
