The day has finally come, and the agony commences.

This is it.

I am just about on my way out the door to go to Mini of Peabody to order my new MCS.

Now I will have to start whining like Skuzzy, but I am sure that I will never be able to match the glorious whining ability of the king himself.

I will post final specs when I get home tonight and the car is on order. Unless of course they happen to have the exact spec that I want sitting on the lot

Again, thanks to all who have helped me get answers to my questions.

I hope that the perfect ride is setting on the lot (with like 4 miles on it) right now.
That is the only way to stave off the darkness. That forever that lingers between order and get.

Everyone has their own style of whine. You just have to seek your own comfort level. Of course, enrolling in the "Skuzzy School of Whine" never hurts.

Now that you are on the path to insanity,..be sure to be mindful of the purple Mini-Zoids. They can be quite surprising and relentless in their taunting. The green Mini-Zoids are less intrusive but quite the joksters.

Good luck...let us know how it goes. It'd be nice if they had "your" car on the lot, but think of all the whining and agony you'd miss out on!!!

Just hang out in your local wine or espresso bar and no one will notice.

I lived in those places while waiting for Blimey...

I just ordered and changed out the whole car. I'm freaking out. Calm down and rent a Mini and go to Vegas.

You don't want to miss out on the wait, that's part of the fun as long as your name isn't Skuzzy....

Heh, the dealer I purchased from had four cars configured exacty like I wanted them. It was simply a matter of color choice, leather or cloth and bluetooth. I blew off the leather and bluetooth, and got the car you see in my sig! I bet you'll find one you like...you might be surprised!

Well, I am home.

Did I forget to add anything?

Did I get the right color combo?

Are we there yet?

Anyway, the guys at Mini of Peabody were very cool although I think I woke up my MA when I got there. Bryan took real good care of me and tried to find something on the lot for me, and he was close, but I just could not sacrifice what I want. Of course, what I want is something that seems to have changed a million times since Brian hit the magic button.

The one somewhat disconcerting part of my experience today was when I talked to Vin the finance guy. Don't get me wrong, he was very cool and helpful, but when I asked for average financing rates, he gave me some figures, I told him I can do better, and he suddenly came up with a miraculous rate that he can lock in for me. The rate is quite good, but just wondering why he can suddenly offer it once I start to decline. I guess that is just part of the business.

My specs

Name: Bideach (With an accent on the I, means "tiny" in Irish Gaelic)
MCS CR/B with black bonnet stripes.
Premium Package
Sport Package
Cold Weather Package (It is New England and almost June, we should have a snow storm any day now)
LSD
Gotham Grey
All Season Tires.

That is it. I will be doing a speaker and amp job myself at some point so did not do the HIFI.

Now I must go wallow in self pity and hope that these weeks pass quickly.

The finance guy is the last bastion of hope for the dealer to make more money. Sounds like he did his job. Most will buckle under careful scruntiny of the finance rate.

Enough of that though. You have now stepped into a much bigger world and the one you leave behind will seem trite and superflous in comparison. As you forge ahead the days will get longer. The nights will be spent in nerve-wracking second guessing yourself!

And in then end, you will go absolutely insane. Heh,..you thought I was going to say something sloppy like, "you will have the car of your dreams",..didn't ya? WELL,...NOT! This is only part of the torture designed to distract you from the real source of the insanity. Thus allowing the insanity to creep over your entire maind and take over!! MUWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Just wait until you actually take delivery. The finance person got significantly less friendly when we paid cash and declined the extra warranties/add-ons he wanted to sell us...

1chaos52 - great color combo...I might be a bit biased

Congrats!!!! The whole waiting process will be such a unique experience. It's good that they didn't have "your" car in the lot. If you can wait for the order, it's an awesome process...a little nerve wrecking but great experience overall.

Good luck and hang out here in NAM while you wait...it makes it sooo much better. You know "misery loves company"

Oh...on the financial guy note - I didn't talk to mine until delivery. He wanted to sell me every extra there was and I declined. It was like 9pm so he didn't get as pushy as they normally get but asked me why I was declining, questioning whether I thought the options weren't worth it or the car would never have issues, lol. I just told him I'd deal with things as they come up, and he stopped, but yeah, they get pushy. Shop around for the int. rate on the loan; you have plenty of time

The finance guy was not really pushy at all, he was very nice and helpful. He did give me a list of all the optional protections and explained a little bit about them, but was not trying to push them on me in any way. He was just doing his job.

He did say that he sells a lot on the tire and rim protection, but also said that is because Mass roads are awful and even said I probably wouldn't have the same problems up in NH. I am considering it, but will probably pass as it is $695.

And yes, I was up all night thinking about my order and wondering if I missed anything and comin up with different combinations of things.

Hopefully, your dealer will already have one on allocation, if you decide to order. I was fortunate, total time from order to delivery was 22 days.
