Euro plate rip off

europeanplates.net
Whatever you do, don't deal with them. I ordered a euro plate for Becker on 3/27/07.
I kept getting strung along as to why it wasn't shipped.
He lied and he cheated me out of my money.
My claim against him with Pay Pal was decided in my favor, but he doesn't have money in his account for me to get my money back. So now I'm out the bucks for that plate and ordered a new one from a different place.

The second order w/the second company went smooth!

mattman-enterprises.com had my plate to me in one week. Yeah for Mattman!!

I remember reading something simliar like this. I was reading a thread from another forum about some guy who never recieved the item he bought, and someone replied back saying that paypal can take money out of his bank account to refund the money if he does not have any proof of delivery for the item that was sold.

If its a lot of money or enough for you to want to take some sort of action. I would probably suggest to call paypal to see if this is true and see what can be done to get your money back.

Yes, PayPal.com can withdraw funds from a connected bank account. They require you connect an account for most merchant uses. However, a slick operator could just drain that account once his PayPal.com account is established.

Bad experience for you. What a shame that some folks are naturally con artists.

I did a complaint against him through Pay Pal and he never responded. They found in my favor yesterday and all he had in his account was 10 bucks. At least I got something back.

If getting ripped off has you feeling particularly vindictive, you could post this info on a whole bunch of other forums for European vehicles. Roadfly, VWvortex, etc. Sorry to hear of your experience.

I think it is pretty much over. I tried the site and it seems to be gone. Can anyone else get there?

I was able to get to the site, and it's interesting that they are displaying the PayPal Verified seal on their home page. Wonder if PayPal will make them take it off?

Well...it seems that me putting a complaint against him through Pay Pal might have worked. My account shows a pending refund which could take up to 7 days.

If anyone else has this problem, I would suggest a complaint/claim through Pay Pal.

He did send me an email 2 days ago:
Hello, We received a complaint through paypal and refunded the funds, your order however is still in the process of shipping. I do apoligize for this delay but we are extremmely backed up. If you decide you no longer want the order simply refuse it. If you to decide to keep it we can re bill you less shipping at no charge.

Funny...according to him it was shipped over 3 weeks ago. In the process of shipping...what does that mean??

Maybe they use the same info source MINI uses on it's website, which says my car is still awaiting shipment.

I also have been talking to Mattman, they seem to be an awesome company and can turn out a custom stamped plate in 3-4 days! I have already placed an order with them and I would encourage you guys to also!

I was explaining to them that I'd was a little disappointed that I wouldn't have my plate by a rally (next weekend) because the other place that ripped me off, but this wasn't their problem. Mattman went up and beyond and pushed my order to be made today, within 15 minutes of placing the order and to be shipped either today or tomorrow. These guys are awesome and have cool items. Check them out! www.mattman-enterprises.com

Well......I got the plate today. The date on the postage was after Pay Pal had ruled in my favor, after all my emails to him for the past month that I didn't want the plate. Ugh....I just don't get this guy.
Mattman was awesome and I think I used Germanplates last time.

I got one of those e mails last week. I also recieved a confirmation shipping e mail that said the electronic info has been recieved but the package was never picked up a week later. I gave up and began the fight with pay pal...

Well, the latest is quite wonderful....ha ha

I received the plate, shipped the day after the dispute was closed with pay pal. It's still sitting on my front porch.
The total was refunded to my account and then this morning, he had the nerve to send me another invoice for the plate!! What a schmuck! So, I emailed him back that it's going back to the post office today since I finally got my money back (which he said I could do in a previous email)

Man oh Man...
In his email today he said:
We really appreciate your patience in this matter and hope we can do business again in the future.
