Need recommendations for a breakfast drive

we have not had a chance for a nice mountain drive in the new to us MCS. This weekend is perfect for it. Can anyone recommend a nice breakfast drive within one hour each way of Denver? Must have twisties, that is the only recommendation.

Yes, hold a moment

I know just the thing.

I am going up Mt. Evans (see the MINI5280 calendar in NAM) early on Friday with Berk. You are welcome to join, but it is not a breakfast drive. It is somethign more than that.

Take CO74

from Morrison up the hill towards Evergreen, thru Idledale. There are now 3 or 4 places along the way before Evergreen, and countess there when you reach the traffic light / intersection.

You will just head west in Morrison (about the only choice) and up the hill past Red Rocks Park.

Have fun.

Libi and I would would love to tag along on your ride however we have to work on Friday. We earmarked saturday am for the drive. I checked the calendar and only saw the MITM as an upcoming group ride. So we will need to organize a few smaller rides to hold us up until that great weekend at Copper.

There you are wrong friend. This weekend is one attempt to get out and driving. The next one is June 8-10, when we attack the Western Slope. HERE is a link to the calander event.

Always remember that you can plan and call your own runs as well. If you know that you want to go on X day to X location then make a post for the community to see. There's a good chance that you can find someone to join in the fun. I know that I go motoring whenever I can; so ask and ye may well receive company. Especially whereas twisties are concerned.

I know that I dont' have any plans for this Saturday morning, so if you are up for breakfast and a drive I could recommend a few things.

In general I like Morrison for breakfast. They've got a couple of pretty good resteraunts up there and it's the perfect staging area to get up the hill and play. Admittedly I know little about dining mid-run, I don't spend enough time in the mountain towns to know good eats.

Saturday or Sunday morning works for me - I've been thinking of doing a pass drive...maybe Trail Ridge Road?

Anyone feel like doing this?
