You're making me wish I could go. However I'll be making brunch for me dear 'ol mum; so coming to the drive is right out. You guys coulda planned the date a little better.
Edit: Actually a better question to ask. Does it need to be $35 cash, or will credit and/or checks suffice for those able to make it.
Brian Black needs to be picked up in Englewood. If you can get him to the event, contact him here in NAM at TheBlackBrian or PM me and I will put you in touch.
C'mon now; someone give those of us who couldn't attend a little background about what happened.
What did you do? I was guessing it would involve a racetrack, but I'm hoping that you guys will clue the rest of us in. Details please!
Well we went to "the track" to race some go-karts..and no im not talking about the mini's lol. they were actual go-karts..i spun out 3 times....so im not a very good go-kart driver. but it was a blast!
We (including one Classic) ended up at The Track at Centennial near Cetennial Airport. Too bad they didn't let the Classic Mini on the track -- he would have beat everyone. Most of us rented and drove racing-style 13 hp go karts. The track has about 20 turns and some gradual ups and downs. You can really go fast and challenge yourself on the turns. I thought I was doing pretty good until Brian passed me twice! Not as comfy as the MINI, but almost like driving the MINI on a larger track. Lots of fun! This type of kart will be racing (many classes) on May 27th at the Greeley Grand Prix and Ralph Schomp MINI will provide the pace car and VIP tent. See the MINI5280 Event Calendar for more info.
Rick
I've never seen such a thing, they're nuts. It was a fun ride even if I didn't risk life and limb by climbing into one of those little go-carts. Nice photo's Jonathan.
Thanks Rick/Jonathan!
30 minutes waiting for your 'turn' (the competitive karts cycle too) then time to get dressed, then 5 mins on the grid in the heat, then a few checking out the hostess, then what was really 12 mins on the track and a few to cool down after....yea, I guess that was enough.
