After serious contact with the wall at CAL Speedway in March we're doing a rebuild and upgrade. There's a couple of pics in my gallery that shows the damage to the front. Broke a left CV joint then a 90 degree left into the wall at around 70.
Now that the car is down to just a shell we decided upgrade the roll cage and side bars. Along with a list of other things. Put the car on a diet as well as the driver.

Good to hear your bettering the car after such a crash. Thats a crazy picture of the PR1
. Must have been some major forces going through the center of that thing.
I decided to replace my hood with the carbon option(ended up being less expensive). What will you be doing?

Brian, I'm going with the OEM hood. I found a CF hood, but I've seen too many car to car contacts that would make the CF hood splinter into pieces. With steel you could pound it back out and go.
The problem is the MINI hood is also the fenders, on most other cars the fenders are still steel and the hood could be CF. Thous side to side contact is with steel and not CF. My $.02 worth.

Makes sense. If I had found a deal on an OEM, I would have taken it. But since I had to buy a whole new hood, the price difference was something I couldn't pass up. $650 shipped to my door VS. $340 for a primed hood and another $500 in DS paint and clearcoat.
Just crossing my fingers I will have a clean rest of the season
.
Looking forward to seeing your results this season, and maybe I will get out there with you later on.
