I saw that on the news as well. but the other station didn't mention a Cooper was involved.

Here's an article I found with more info on the Cooper: http://www.dailyherald.com/news/cook...66&cc=c&tc=&t=

this clip I found funny.. at least he had a sense of humor...

Having left work moments before at A.C. Imports Jaguar down the street, Lin Chandler was driving his 2006 red Mini Cooper home when all of a sudden the plane came up behind him and kept going over the roof of his car.
As he pointed out the scratch it left, Chandler, of Arlington Heights, said he’s just glad everyone is OK.
“I called my wife, told her that I was hit by an airplane and would be late for dinner,” he said.

I'm really glad all involved are alright. That could have ended much differently.

It does beg the question though...is there not an end to the number of ways that the general public can find to abuse our beloved MINIs?

They rear end us, they dump soda/milkshakes on us, they key us, and now...they land their plane on us. Is a MINI not safe anywhere?

I'm reminded of the Simpsons episode where they show a slide depicting what it might look like when an impending asteroid hit threatens Springfield and Moe's bar is specifically pointed out in the collision.

"Oh dear God, no!"

Bet MINI owners who chose the Helicopter Landing Pad for their roof graphics are having second thoughts now.

Poor MINI...Poor plane - glad to hear nobody was injured. It certainly could have been much worse...

Ok, no pic's and we have local media involved!

But think about how low the mini sits. So this plane was literally on the ground or just feet from touching down. Here's an attached picture of what the aircraft looks likes. **not the actual plane involved.

Wow! I used to drive that route to and from work when I lived there.

All I can say is that it's a good thing he was driving a MINI. Can you imagine what would have happened if he was driving an SUV!

BAMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am glad everyone involved is okay, but can you image being the MINI owner and calling your insurance agent to report your claim?

The plane, which holds 48 gallons of fuel, is based 13 miles outside Dallas-Fort Worth. Beaulieu owned the plane for about two years. “I’ve never run out of fuel,” he said.

I bet he never does again, either. He's lucky he didn't kill someone.
