SIRIUS is available

My MA said I can order sirius and it would be in my June production. Has anyone ordered and does it come on a stand alone basis or do I have to add the other audio upgrades. If its $500+ just for the unit being incorporated into the car, this is rather steep considering my starmate works fine in my Honda and Best Buy charged approx. $100.00 for everything. I like the idea of a more builtin look though. The life time subscription is nice but if Howard Stern leaves in 3+-more years 36 months x $12.00+- per month=$432.00 just for service, wait maybe its not such a bad deal afterall.

If the $500 price includes the lifetime subscription, then getting the unit is a bargain.

The lifetime subscription by itself costs $500, when they choose to offer it (it's always a limited time offer when they do). I know, I have it.

When I ordered in late April, my MA said Sirius would be available beginning with June builds, for $1,000.00. This included a "lifetime" subscription, which stays the the car's VIN.

I passed, so I would not have to wait till August, and opted to install a Starmate 4, in the center stack cubby.

You can always buy the OEM Mini Sirius module at a later date, as it is plug & play.

My MA gave me an approximate price of $2,000.00. The "package" would include the 10 speaker Hi Fi sound system, HD radio, and the subscription. But he still couldn't give me a firm price. That does seem a bit much.

Isn't it 1400?? Atleast that's what my MA told me.
Speaking of satellite radio, is there an XM module for the R56? I don't want an AUX based solution but something like the integrated ones available in Acuras and Infinitis.

I ordered about 3 or 4 weeks ago with the Audio package. I was told by my MA that $1,450 buys me the hifi audio, HD radio and the kinda' sorta' lifetime subscription to Sirius. I'm scheduled, according to Ask Mini, for production week #23, the first week that Mini will build with the audio package included.

I hope you and gforce are right, though I'm not sure I'm willing to pay that, either.

I could be wrong but I think the unit and lifetime sub is priced at $950 and if bought later it doesn't include installation or software upgrade. The unit alone is $500 without subscription.

I too hope that me and gforce are right. If not, then there will be meaningful dialogue between me and the dealer.

I'm pretty sure it was $1400. Had it been a lifetime subscription to XM, I would've bought the package in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, I hate Sirius' crappy Area 33 and The Beat.

Why does the configurator say Sirius is available 3/07, but it is still grayed out?

I want the upgrade stereo and Sirius, but I don't really care a rat's *** about the HD radio (if you have sirius why would you listen to FM radio anyway?). I don't really want/need the lifetime subscription either.

I just want the upgrade stereo for $550 and sirius. Is this possible? Is the car ready for it to be added at any time I buy the Sirius box? Is the antenna already built in?

You are correct! I just ordered mine (the car) yesterday and it was $950, which included lifetime service (to the car) and the radio. Seemed high to me, but I wanted something from the factory. I expect FM and Sirus to merge soon. I've read the ideas on this forum for other configurations, but I don't quite understand the technology, hardware and connections mentioned.

$950 for ONLY Sirius?!

So if you want that plus the upgrade stereo, you're looking at $1500??!!

Chrysler charges about $195 to add sirius to their cars....

$950 gets you a lifetime subscription to Sirius.

Sorry, I meant XM, not FM!

Which, of course, stays with the car when you sell it.
