Having to much time to change options.

I said to my MA that I am not going to be like that guy that can't make up his mind. Since last Saturday, I have changed the car from MC to MCS, interior color line, added DSC, etc. I am that guy and now I get it. Now I want to add the cream color line to the standard leatherette, standard checkered metal and english oak which I think gets you some black piano?. Is the cream too much, to many colors?. Does anyone have any pictutes. BTW, the color is sparkeling silver.

Thanks.

You should go and see the cars, colors, interiors. Don't rely on pix from here or the configurator. Get off the computer and go see the choices at a dealership, or at a rally. Or else you may not be happy campers. Just my advice.

Sparkling Silver and English Oak are not as good as Piano Black and Sparkling Silver. I know because I have the English Oak which washes out in the interior and is hardly visible. Cream is much too much unless you are getting a black interior. Your MA should be able to help you with advice on items like DSC, but only you can decide on colors. Pictures are helpful, but the real thing is always best.

Warm/hot climates the cloth is cooler. MINI cloth is especially good, but so is their leatherette. I bought the Redwood Red Lounge seats and everyone who has seen them is stunned by their quality. The auto reviewer for the New York Times said the this combination was worthy of a Jaguar. I agree.

Couldn't agree more!!!! Had my mind all made up after a couple months with the confiurator and sitting in a few car once or twice. Then when I was actually ready to buy, I when to the dealership and sat in just about every one... and sure enough I changed my options. Don't just look in the cars, sit in them and get a good feel for it and the combo's you want. If helped me to make a list of things to look at otherwise it was all overwhelming

.... even if it is an hour or two drive to the dealer as some of you are.

This forum is really bad for you after you order. I know it's all personal preference but when I learn about a new feature or see a great color combo I always think to myself that I should have gotten that. My MINI is about to hit shore this next week and I'm almost considering re-ordering. But the problem is that I don't even know if I'll be happier with the other options.

MINI LOVES that you are doing this. in fact its their business model. they allow buyers to add options to their car days before it is being built. just look how many extra $$$$ options you keep adding. thats all profit for MINI. and what MINI says is "its much easier for the buyer to add more options waiting for the car to be built. you get wraped up in the waiting and spending the extra $$$ does not seem like as big a deal as it was when you first order the car.". you would not believe how much more MINI makes from allowing car buyers to do this and make up to the last minute options add ons. trust me, neither MINI or you MA care. it what they want you to do.

I totally agree with TheBigNewt on this one. I have created and created on the configurator and nothing can compare to going and seeing options in person. I went in yesterday and did my build. I went with a tentative build printed out but after seeing various options up close and personal did some modifications. Let me just say MiniUSA really needs to update the configurator a bit better. The leatherette colors look awful on the configurator but actually look nice in person. Also the configurator doesn't list heated side mirrors in the cold weather package but they are included. Do yourself a favor before you decide. Go have a gander at what they have on the lot to see various options up close and personal. It will make all the difference in the world!

The best day, for me, in the whole order/production process, was the day that my MA said that my MCS was "in production", and it was too late to change anything.

As chiki143 has said. Go find the cars with the colors & options you want & look at them in person. In hindsight if I'd have looked at my exterior color choices in person my R53 would have been Pepper White instead of Hyper Blue. I love my little Hyper Blue buzz bomb, but always feel a bit sad when a Pepper White one bombs by.

It was too late when I realized I did indeed, need the Athracite headliner. Of course, because I'm getting the lounge leather and cream and the grey I believe will look really busy, if not absolutely gross with it.. Not an easy fix. I went to the local dealer 10 times... but they did not have the that interior to see..and I was busy focusing everything else. Also, for some reason I thought the grey was darker.

Don't worry about it too much. One doesn't look at the headliner much. It took me a week to notice that there were warning labels on the visors. Besides, when you are looking at the headliner, you aren't looking at the rest of the interior.
