Edmunds R56 Full Test

Caught an article on Edmunds for their full test of the R56. It is a good read although seems to be repetitive from many other articles. They do reference it as a "green" car and do some comparisons in that area that are kind of interesting. Link is below.

Looks like a good review! I'm even more happier now that I ordered my R56!

Strange, they are the only ones to complain about shift linkage and long throws.

Good review, although I disagree with some of the "impressions" parts, having lived with mine for about 4400 miles so far...

For the first week after picking up my R56 S, I thought the shifts a little long and that the shift linkage rubbery. However, I don't think this now after a month.

Good review overall. Yep, sport button here definitely weights the steering. Maybe the reviewer needs sensitivity training...

Where do you drive? We got ours at the same time and I have half the miles. And that is after a run to Austin and a trip to New Orleans for Jazz Fest! You must be having some serious fun or you can't keep from running to Kroger!

Well, actually, if you buy one egg at a time...

Seriously, though--that's the difference between living IN the city and living in BFE, as my daughter calls it. Today, for example, I had a doctor's appointment, 80 miles each way. I'm also taking trips of about 150 miles with the two MINI clubs I belong to. All kinds of excuses, if you look for them, LOL. Just going to that Kroger is about 20 miles round trip.

Green Mini

I love this quote from the article:

"A quick check of the agency's greenhouse-gas emissions meter shows the Mini just a few shades away from its Prius gas-electric counterpart hybrid. It emits an estimated 5.8 tons per year, versus the 3.4 tons generated by the Prius. In comparison, a four-cylinder Honda Accord emits 6.4 tons.

We find this comforting and you should, too. You see, without cleaner gasoline-powered vehicles, we stand a good chance of getting stuck driving hybrids. Ever driven a Prius? At full throttle it sounds like your microwave cooking a hot dog, while its driving dynamics deliver an equivalent level of excitement."

I like the center stack and all its weird buttons. I tend to forget to look at the MPH, though. If that guy couldn't tell the difference in steering after engaging the sport button, he was either numb or the thing was broken.
