No ads in the Feb Atlantic either...

Meg, what a terrific find in the January '05 Cycle World mag!!! The ads are cool but when you can get something a little different, wow! I'll be looking for a copy soon.

Annes, my Dad said he might be able to get a second copy of the Cycle Worlds from work. If I get that one, it's yours.

This isn't a new ad but it is in a current magazine---

The series of cameras starting with the biggest and going to the smallest ending with a MINI is in the March "05 issue of Esquire magazine. Pages 106 and 107- Interestingly enough there is a Puma ad on the following page-109(nothing eluding to MINI)

As an aside- Nothing in the lastest issue of RS (or Rolling Stone) dated Feb. 24, 2005-

March 05 Motor Cyclist magazine has the convertible ad infront of a Kawasaki jet ski ad. So it looks like the people on the jetski are riding in the convert. It's inbetween pages 18 and 19 (page 19 is the jet ski ad).
The saying on the back says:
Let's leave all other cars in our wake. Let's kick up a little spray. Let's lean into turns. Let's outmaneuver larger vessels. Let's give them a big friendly wave when we do. Let's motor..

He used to own a Honda motorcycle shop. He now is the parts manager of the local motorcycle/snowmobile/jetski place. He gets tons of mags at home (he also does classic motorcycle restoration on the side) and brings the extra mags home from work.

New ad in The New Yorker, February 14 & 21, 2005 issue (pages 248 & 249). The ad is a small one in a column of other ads with a CR MC. It says: LET'S HAVE MORE FEATURES THAN WE CAN FIT IN AN AD. MINI COOPER STANDARD FEATURES". Then it lists all the fetures in small print, continuing at the top of the column on the next page. I'll get a scan soon.

Anyone have scans of the two ads where the MINI ad uses the ad next to it? The one with the horse and jockey and the jetski. I still haven't seen them and I'm trying to add them to the list.

In the March '05 issue of Playboy, the "Why did you open this?" ad is in between page-41 and 42. It's the same ad as the one last Fall in Esquire so really nothing new...but still a neat ad.

Hey All! No I don't have any new finds but I can tell you a few magazines that MINI ads aren't in....

RS ( I think it's the Feb. 24th) issue- nothing!!!
Maxim March Issue - a big fat NOTHING!!!

Windmeup, do you remember which magazine, your ad came from and have you checked out James' site -www.libraryofmotoring.info? Its really up to date with all the known MINIUSA ads!

Notice the word "known" ads- if you all have any ads that aren't listed, please let us know so we can add them to the list!!!!

Oh, and I see that I already did the Maxim mag. notice so sorry....

Gasaholic

In today's (March 7, 2005) AutoWeek magazine there is an insert ad...
Are You Or Is Someone You Know A Gasaholic?
I haven't seen it before. But then, this is the first time I have even seen this thread. I did check on the Libraryofmotoring site mentioned above and didn't see this ad listed. So maybe it is brand new. Forgive me if not....
Cheers!

Dang - you beat me to it! We just checked our mail and found this one. It's very cool....It's a pull out insert, a 3 way fold thingy type - has an actual card you can pull off and put in your wallet - It's The Gasaholic's Mantra and it says "Grant me the faith to believe in high gas mileage. The courage to refuel rarely. And the wisdom to know when I've pumped enough".

The back lists "Gasaholic Treatment Centers" which are all the MINI dealerships across the US.

You all MUST find somebody with a subscription - this is one of the best ads I've seen.......

Anne - which ads do you still have for trade? I'm still searching for the Krispy Kreme one........

That is new! I'm still trying to find all three of the recent ads where the MINI Convertible is superimposed on the ad on the following page (horse, snowmobile, jetski). I've never been so far behind in my ad collection!
