A great package arrived for me yesterday...

I finally got the MINI clock, snow globe (my set is complete now) and MINI robot (American Flag one, new set collecting begins...)! A couple of weeks ago I got the slippers and backpack and a few advertising things. It has been better than Christmas for me around here lately.

Anyone have a MINI robot with the Union Jack that they want to part with for cheap. Probably not if you are hanging out in the collectibles forum but I had to ask.

eBay can be great for this kind of stuff but it seems like the MINI collectibles are drying up again on there.

I dont know if I should tell you this, it will make you even more . There was a little dirt on the slippers so the guy took $5 off the total, they ended up being something like a dollar. He was one one the best sellers I have dealt with, fast shipping, great with coorespondance and honest! My MINI clock just beeped at me!

Nice try, but I already have the clock!

Sorry for the delay in getting pictures up. Lots of pre holiday stuff to do here. After tonight we are pretty free until the new year, lol!

Here is a picture of most of my MINI collectible stuff, not including ads, awards and other random stuff I am forgetting.

Here is the MINI clock. I believe this is the first model that was produced but I am not really sure. On the hour the MINI comes out and revs its engine then gives two beeps. I am still beep-beeping with this! There is a sensor so that it wont make noise when it is dark. Good thing too or I am sure my husband would have exiled it to the garage if not for this feature.

This is a picture of the MINI models or RC cars I have. Also included are the 2 pinewood MINIs from MOTD. I customized the one with a Smurfette in it to look like my MINI. The BRG MINI is the first I ever owned. Got that in 2003 I think...6 years before I would get a full sized MINI. All the rest I have gotten since I got Smurfette in 2009.

Any questions about the stuff? Most of the stuff I got pretty cheaply. Have I stumbled on to any really good treasures?! I am new to the MINI collecting so I am really not sure.

The one in the center started the madness for me. I won it at a car show at the local dealership. Actually I won a gift certificate and saw the snow globe when I went to redeem the certificate. It was about $30 at the dealership. MINI USA made one for 2003, 2004 and 2005. You might luck out at your local dealership. I got the red one (on the right) off of eBay. There is a guy that has been selling off that version of the snow globe for over a year now. They usually go for $20-$30 plus about $10 shipping. I saw one recently go on eBay for about $60...it was insane! I have been looking for the blue one for about a year and a couple of months ago one came up on eBay. I really lucked out because there was hardly any interest in that one. I got it for $1.30. I was so excited to complete my collection!

That's awesome. So they only made the snow globes for those 3 years? Interesting.....and it makes them fun to to find.

You are correct, it's the first edition.
First edition is characterised by the Mini garage on the right, not bottom, mini popping out while the volume cannot be adjusted.
The second edition (R56) has a mini on the bottom, it doesn't pop out but drives a complete circle around the dial, and the volume can be adjusted.
Later (third edition) there also came a Clubman version in hot chocolate.
Not sure if there's another version made after this (like a countryman version).

I could swear there is volume control on mine...High, Low and off. I am not sure if off means the car pops out and no engine rev and beep or if it means the MINI stays garaged. I have never had mine on anything but High. I would check but I have mine kind of high up and dont feel like getting a ladder out to confirm but I am really positive it is set up like I said.

I wonder why there was never a convertible version. I feel like the convertibles get the short end of the collectible stick. It does make finding something in a convertible extra sweet!
