I had my eye on the 1:18 R56 Lightning Blue AUTOart model for quite some time. Last week I asked the seller on Amazon if the model comes with bonnet stripes as I've seen some people here with that model with the bonnet stripes. I've also seen this model at the dealerships w/o the bonnet stripes so I'm a bit confused in that regard.

The seller wrote me back stating that it has the bonnet stripes already on the model. With that in mind and with some gift money from Xmas I decided to purchase it. I received the model last night. While it is certainly very much NIB (new in box), it does not have the racing stripes on the model or even on a decal sheet inside the box, nope, nowhere to be found. I await a reply fro the seller about this but in the mean time I thought I would write about this here.

How do you guys get the stripes on this model? Do some come this way or do you do this yourself?

When I first got my 1:1 scale version I remember looking on MINI USA and I could have swarn that I saw they were selling a bonnet stripe decal sheet for this model. When I get home from work today I'll search around for that I suppose.

 

I don't have that model, but I added stripes to my mini MINI with leftover vinyl from my original stripes.. Just cut it by hand to about the right sizes.
