There are many things that could happen any day to anyone but do you live life that way? I hope not. That's like saying don't go to the mall becasue you could get mugged or even worse shot in the food court. If it's your time it's your time. Fate, a much greater power! Every day my tag is out there so if you desire to find me, do so, but that's your business and I'm not ever going to live life worrying about what could happen. Seize the DAY! Some threads get way to serious in this forum. :impatient

While your hiding your plate why not hide our faces in scarves and masks, why not wear disguises because we are worried someone may find out who we are? We could all live like Wacko Jacko he wrote the book of living in disguise. Just some random non sense thats with the rest of my random non sense thoughts.

So, what's your driver's license number? In what state? Febmoon1 what's your real name? Your date of birth? Hell with it, just give me your name, credit card number and security code.

LOL!!

But seriously, that's creepy that the "authorities" would read the forums and deny warranty work or stalk you to give you a speeding ticket...

I don't blur my plate because it's my username and I paid a lot to get a custom plate. As well, like it was already mentioned, a lot of other people on the roads have seen my plate and I guess I'm not hard to stalk, with a pink and black MINI and all, so in the end I don't blur it. I'll blur other people's plates if they're in the picture with me. Just a common courtesy incase they don't want theirs online...

PS: in my sig, it's not blurred, just shrunk down realllly small lol!

Now that is funny! This is what it is all about. Have a little fun and a little laugh! If someone is going to want my information then I can not stop them. I won't give it out, but if someone wants something bad enough then they will get it regardless. I can only worry after the fact. I wonder if NBC dateline is going to do an episode where they set up motorist having fun on forums and then lure us to the highway with their Jedi skills and then after they show us our forum post have us nabbed by the police as we try to drive away! HAHA!

The thing is it's probably just as easy to figure out who you are using GIS and your screen name as it is to look up you plate number.

Anyone who wants to live their lives in fear...that's their problem. Just remember that authorities may have a reason to look for this information if they read about illegal activity. Counties with a lot of highway racing will want to track down the racers. My point is that it is no more dangerous to post a plate number than it is to park your car infront of your house with the address showing...unless you are talking about illegal activities.

Febmoon1's story is a perfect example of how this information can lead to action by police.

I think the police would be more interested in MYspace forums and talk than NAM, but who knows these days. I beleive police would have to prove fiction or non fiction and then get Dateline NBC to investigate. I could see it now, no I didn't write the forum I just came by to check out your car and tell you not to speed. ya ya that's the story.

T2Nav,

I like your perspective and humor!

BTW, I was in New Mexico a few weeks ago and it was nice to see a few dusty & muddy Minis zipping around between Taos and Sante Fe.
