Rear-Engine MINI

Went on a photo-shoot this afternoon for a buddy. The location turned out to be a warehouse used for storage and a sort-of mechanic's shop.

After finishing up the shoot with my friend and the subject vehicles, they let me wander around the place a bit, since the other vehicles being stored there had already caught my eye.

One automobile had caught my attention in particular, a MINI. This wasn't just any MINI however, it was one I had seen before, a rear-engine MINI! It made me a bit sad to see it so neglected, especially after having reigned supreme at the Chicago Auto Show a few years ago. There was barely enough room to walk next to this Cooper as it was sandwiched in between dozens of other cars in similar states.

Photographic conditions were horrible but I managed to click off these four snapshots.

Just sharing these here just in case some of you had also seen this MINI before and ever wondered what became of it.
As usual, each pic is clickable.

I always wondered if they would ever set up a Monster Garage museum. That would be a cool place to visit!

It was Monster Garage storage. There were a lot of other cars and bikes there. (even a chopper the size of a tank!)
But, as I stated earlier, the dusty vehicles were pretty much squished in there and left uncovered. There was even a pigeon flying around the place!

Must be his new aftershave.

Actually, yes. We were shooting the vehicle that's set to appear in final episode of Monster Garage.

GoMINI once upon a time had an article about a rear-engined M-powered MINI.

I smell? That's funny...

Not that I'm gonna say ANYTHING about this subject. But if I WERE,.. to say anything about this,... I would say that JUAN is the best Photodood since sliced Starbuck Motoroil Lattes.

Good shots Juan. Not bad for crappy lighting that day. Stay tooned for MONSTER GARAGE June 12th!

I'll probably smell then, too....
